a/k/a Stuffy. '99 I/S Valk Roadsmith Trike

De Pere, WI (Green Bay)

Last leg of a bit over 500 miles I had the rain suit on the entire day...in/out of showers all day, some pretty intense at times. Both before and after IZ I did some visiting of family and friends, including checking up on my daughter following her recent triple bypass(doing ok best I can tell). First few days both before and after IZ were really hot for traveling via open air transportation. Total miles right at 2700, maybe a bit more, didn't get to go east though...too hot and some pretty big storms, gone 2 1/2 weeks. Overall the trike ran fine, no mechanical issues other than the broken brake line leading from the front m/c to the distribution block on the triple tree. Mitch and Dennis came up with a temporary fix that worked fine for the rest of the trip and the new part is on order. Thanks loads guys. cooldude In the Smokies and hill country the trike handled great, just missed the leaning into those curves. Once on flat land I easily ran anywhere from 65-75mph...but usually tried to keep it near 3k rpm for fuel conservation but once in a while...well, you know! Wink

As for the rally, I had a great time spending time with long time friends and meeting some new folks I've only known through this board. Speaking of old friends...I know I must be special in Bruce's(DDT) eyes cuz he let me have his last two pieces of bacon one day. Sacrifices like that just don't happen every day! Grin  As a final note, I was blown away by the generosity of our group when it came to the charity donation of over $10k. That, and the donation of the 50-50 winnings back to the couple that had the tragic accident. I still get a chuckle out of having watched Kali trying to do a rear wheel stand with her wheel chair. All in all, it was a good break for me and I'm sure for all in attendance, I'm really looking forward to next year. I plan to attend as many as possible, we shall see. Until next year....  cooldude

I wondered who Bruce gave my bacon to.   Now, I know..............  Wink
Yeah, I brought it to Bruce, came back a short while later and it was all gone.   He never told me who got it.   Lips Sealed   Yep, he's special alright.   smitten

What struck me funny was after he handed it to me, he suddenly opened the box and said let me have the crumbs. Yes...I've also known him for quite a few years, we first met at a Floirda gang function a long time ago. He had less than half the mileage he now has on his bike so you know it's been a while.  Wink
