Technically their birthday was while we were at Inzane, but we delayed their party until yesterday - The triplets Kaelynn, Brian Jr and Blake are officially into the double digits, 10 years old... (Don't worry, that knowledge makes me feel far older than it makes you feel!)

For many years I was under the impression that there weren't any other kids their age in our neighborhood, then I implemented a new rule - No electronics until after 6PM on school nights.

They complained loudly at first, just moped around the house, until finally one of them (Brian Jr.) hopped on his bike and started exploring the neighborhood.

He made a friend. He convinced the siblings to do the same, they made friends.

Few weeks later I looked out and there were 11 bicycles piled up in my driveway, kids running around, jumping on the trampoline, playing on the play house, just being kids. Warmed my heart to see this!

For their birthday party we decided to keep it simple, have them invite their new friends (And the parents so we could meet some of them finally) over, put some sprinklers in the yard, and start digging into the massive quantity of water balloons I scored on clearance last winter.

19 kids, several parents, 1700+ water balloons, lots of kids laughing, playing, being kids. It was a grand day!

(And you know Covid is officially "over" when we're back to blowing out candles on a birthday cake, and no one complains about it!)

Few pics from the event:

Where's the one arm, 3 babies photo?

We call it the "Allstate Photo" (Ya' know, "You're in good hands.")

I really need to line all 3 of 'em up and get a group photo, but here's the best pic of the triplets from yesterday, this was after the party opening their presents:

Serk , is that the misses in the purple top. It's been a while since you showed a photo.
My children were pre electronics. I would get home from work and run them outside. They dug several swimming pools in the yard . Would have made a hog happy. Mud washes off with a garden hose.

1700 water balloons! How long those take ta fill?

About 17 minutes total.....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0L5SAkgj98

These are usually around $10 for 100 water balloons, Wal Mart happened to have 'em out in the winter clearance priced at $1 per 100. I bought all they had. I've still got around 1700 left even after the party...

Yup, that's the spousal unit, although it's rare to get a photo of her these days where she isn't falling from an airplane...

Did find a recent pic of all the photogenic folks in the family all together, at the final weekend of the Renaissance festival here a month or two back:

When the heck did Kaelynn's hair turn red?

Two nights ago, when big sister had some of that nasty stuff left over after doing her own...

enjoy, sounds like good time had by all.

we had a trampoline when kids younger but no netting around.  I was always worried that the neighbor kid (or few kids) would come over and try it out without asking and fall off injuring themselves.  The neighbor with that one kid who always bugged us to jump on it is the owner of his own insurance company so got me worried she would fall off and sue us being that type.  Their kid when younger would always come over and bug us for her parents just sat and drank and smoke all night long daily.   One thing insurance companies do NOT like to insure are trampolines.

for a second there I thought that was spiderman flying around above the clouds...   coolsmiley

do you ever go onto the trampoline with preferably just 1 small kid on there and jump up and down while kid sitting in middle and FLING KID WAY WAY up in the air about 15 feet due to your heavy jump?   I use to do that with both my kids ages say 4 thru 10 range until I got tired.  One thing you cannot do after jumping around on trampoline is jump up in the air on the ground right afterwards.  Try it,  can only jump off ground say 6 inches is all, very weird feeling.

Heh, funny you say that, I added appropriate music to one of her VERY early training jumps (She'd be horrified if she knew I was showing folks how bad she was flying then, but oh well)

https://youtu.be/LurMy3Cpt8g

And yup, LOVE to double bounce the kiddos, I can do it even better if they're jumping and I'm jumping, try to synchronize our bounces together, then put all my leg power into one bounce and send 'em WAAAAAAAAY up...

But alas, I had the triplets later in life, I turn 50 this year, can't keep up with 'em on the trampoline for very long these days, but I do what I can.

There's a big difference in power between round ones and square ones.

The square one in gym class, you could almost get up to the gym rafter beams.... if you had a death wish.  You could come down straddling the springs, and damage your nut sack.

The round tramps are like 150 Dreams.   Grin  I suppose there's a reason for those family yard fun machines to be safer.
