GEORGIA MOUNTAIN MANIA - September 24,25, &2 26
So after discussing several locations for the ride that I'm wanting to put together,  I believe we're going to shoot for Clayton,  Ga
There's a Days Inn by Wyndham Clayton located at:
54 Hwy 441 North
Clayton, Georgia 30525
1-706-801-4051
The rooms are $69-$79 based on the bed configuration that you desire.
I've had several people tell me that the place is clean and comfortable and convenient to dining locations.  There is a Mexican Restaurant within walking distance from the hotel also.

I want to have a Friday arrival date, organized leisurely ride on Saturday after everyone has time to have some breakfast, then after the ride have the afternoon free to do as you please. We can go sightseeing in the area or even ride more. Then on that Saturday evening let's all get together at the Mexican Restaurant that I previously mentioned and then return to hotel and hang out, have fellowship, and tell lies or least some good stories.  Then on Sunday we would all depart and head back to out homes.
I will contact the hotel on Monday and see if I can speak with a manager and discuss reserving rooms for enough of us and the possibility of a discount if we have enough coming to stay.

The date for this is September 24,25, and 26.

Thanks to everyone that has given me input and advice so far and to those that are showing interest in attending my first ever organized  event.

If you're able to attend on a Friday,  Saturday, and Sunday in September (24, 25, &26) and would like to join us in North Ga, then plan on coming out to meet and or reunite with other Valkyrie guys and gals.

So if you can dedicate a weekend for fun and riding, would you simply respond in this post as "interested" or "for sure" .
If any of you are interested in splitting a room with another rider, let that be known in this post and y'all can work that out amongst yourselves

Thanks guys and gals!

I'm confused, is the weekend in the title "the" weekend?

Hell Yeah, this assumes you get that date confirmed and my planner hasn't already scheduled me for...........  There are some things you just have to be there to experience.  No Tee Shirt for me, already have a bunch I don't wear.

Based on the amount of interest shown for the upcoming planned Ga event Mountain Mania, I am going to contact the hotel tomorrow and try to set aside 15- 20 rooms.
I will update and post afterwards to explain how to reserve your room.  If 15- 20 rooms turn out to not be enough,  I'm sure there will be more rooms available as well as other nearby hotels.  If anyone is interested in sharing a room with another rider, let that be known in one of the post pertaining to this event here or on Facebook or on MeWe and y'all can coordinate that amongst yourselves.
Again,  the dates are September 24th, 25th, and departure on the 26th.

Itinerary as follows:
arrive  that Friday and hang out, kick tires, tell good stories and lies, then get dinner either as a group or individuals.

Then on saturday morning get up, grab yourselves some breakfast and plan on a KSU around 0930-0945 ride (planned route is 120 miles)  with a planned lunch stop at TWO (two wheels only) Lodge and restaurant in Suches, Ga. and then back on the road to finish the ride ending back at the hotel.
I will make a reservation for all of us at a Mexican Restaurant that's within walking distance from the hotel. This will be done once i get a final head count.  We should be back in time from the group ride if some want to ride more.  If so another great ride would be to go up to The Great Smokey Mtns National Park which is only 55 miles north from the hotel.  The ride from the beginning of the park up to pigeon forge is nearly 60 miles (i believe) but many great turns and tunnels along this route.

Then on Sunday morning we'll pack it up and some of us are taking a few extra days to ride the Blue Ridge Pkwy up into Virginia and all are welcomed.  Plan on being in Va at the end of the pkwy by Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather and stops that are made.

I think amber and i may then ride Skyline Dr on up into DC to visit my oldest son daughter in law, and grandson for one day then head back to Ga on Thursday of Friday.

Bump.

Nag, nag, nag.

Having recently just fallen foul of miscalculating the remaining tread on my front tire  blush

Please check your tires and brake pads.

Clayton is NOT the place to need a new tire!!!

Britman knows every cool motorcycle road in that area and then some he use to live there. A few folks ( limited ) are going with me to meet T-Birds wife and pick up his ashes so we can spread them on The Fall Color Ride in Oct.

We are getting close!  I'm ready and pray we all have great weather, safe travels, and a terrific time.
Britman has a great route planned out for our ride and for those that haven't ever been to T.W.O. (Two Wheels Only), i think you'll enjoy it and that entire area.
Looking forward to meeting and reuniting with y'all! Be safe!
