Ever heard of it?  I have lived in Kentucky most of my life but the southeastern portion of the state is an area I have never explored. I found a posting about it on Facebook and have sent off for a map detailing the area. It includes the Red River Gorge and the pictures I’ve seen are very scenic. My only exposure to that portion of the state has been rolling down I75 toward Knoxville and it seems obvious that there is some great riding opportunities.

I haven’t downloaded any pictures but you can google it for all that’s available. In the next week or so I plan to cruise the Eye and see what it has to offer.

I've not heard of the Eye of the Dragon.  I have visited the Red River Gorge with a group of bikers from Virginia a few years ago.  It is a very nice area with a lot to see.  Seems lotta areas are trying to cash in on the "Dragon" name.  Back of the Dragon, Claw of the Dragon, and probably some more. Personally I'd rather ride U S 421 from Bristol, TN to Mountain City, TN  passing through Shady Valley, TN on the way. Be safe out there.......

Re: the Eye of the Dragon, Back of the Dragon.... I do like the Route 16 ride from Marion, VA across three mountains to Tazewell, VA.  I have ridden that road for almost 40 years.  My previous comment was just about the choice of the name....the ride itself is awesome!!

Very interesting.

It looks possible to do a Tail of the Dragon https://tailofthedragon.com/ , Eye of the Dragon https://maps.harley-davidson.com/map/rides/4BZI-xgjh/preview?time=1626458400 , Head of the Dragon https://www.headofthedragonwv.com/ , Back of the Dragon https://www.backofthedragon.com/ and Claw of the Dragon https://www.visitwytheville.com/claw-of-the-dragon-moto/ combination ride.

I haven't calculated the entire distance and time that it would to take to do it.

But it looks like it could be done over a long weekend.

I did take off exploring in the general direction of the Eye on Sunday afternoon. From Richmond, I traveled east and south on 52. I traveled through Estill, Lee, Harrison, Owsley, and Jackson counties. Excellent motorcycle roads in generally good condition. I want to try going again but in a more North eastern direction.
