I recently set the valves on my 98C. There were two wires to deal with at the front of the right valve cover. One is obviously the oil pressure sensor light, what is the other one for? It had a bullet style connector in it, not sure if that is factory.

It’s factory but can’t help you on what it is. You probably need it

BTW. I usually disconnect them and move them out of the way so I don’t have to deal with them while trying to get the valve cover on without the gasket falling out.

well one of the wires goes to the oil filter boss. Gotta be careful when you clean around that crevice from tearing those wires.

Beautiful clean bike. I love it. I hope you have since changed to metal valve stems

affirmative, I installed Myer's 90° metal stems, nut on the outside. If you visit the forum on a regular basis you'll get to know all the tips and tricks.
