I wish my neighbors cat was still around, a tom cat outdoors kills birds, rabbits, gophers, moles/voles, everything. Last night I killed in mouse trap a ground gopher (or chipmunk but bigger), well sort of. It's head was snapped down but being so big about 10 inches long it still could breath but heavy but unable to get out or walk around was under my 5 gallon bucket. I shot him few times with BB gun to end him. Have caught about 9 moles/voles and field mice with peanut butter on mouse trap in our garden so far having holes all over the garden.
I did get rid of our pet snake though a few years ago guessing should have let him be vs. moving him 1/2 mile downtown in creek area. I bet snakes eat moles/voles/mice right but after snake got into our house in basement I had to relocate.
Next trick vs. killing them in mouse traps is might splurdge and buy a 4 pack of solar activated stakes that go into ground and vibrate the soil suppose to drive the critters underground AWAY range of 40 feet or so having 4 is plenty.

That's funny.
I'm no expert, but those are either GIANT mice, or more likely rats.
I was wondering how he was going to get the snake back. GOOD BOY!!
He could probably rent him out.
