Something rattling in the rear of my new bike purchase.
Bike runs great and rides just fine but something is rattling in the rear.
I have the horrible stock seat and the ultimate seats.
Ultimate seats are installed.
Is there supposedly a bumper of some sort under the passenger seat?
The seat is bolted in correctly and nothing seems loose..just have a rattle over bumps.
Any other ideas?
I don't have my other bikes available to me at the moment.
Thanks.

I haven't looked at my Ultimates lately, but most seats sit on rubber or polymer cushions.  I have had seats squeak in the past, and stopped it by polishing the paint underneath, and rubbing some Armor-all or other vinyl protectant on the bumpers.  This is for squeaks.

A rattle sounds like something is loose.

One way to chase a rattle is to put it up on the lift, and spin the wheel and wiggle the bike around or rap with a rubber mallet (carefully) to run it down.

There's a tongue on the rider's seat that fits into a slot on the bike.

The OEM tongue is plastic. My Ultimate's tongue is metal, and it rattled...

I removed the seat and painted the tongue with Plasti Dip, and also
painted (carefully) down in the slot.

That cured my main rattle.

There's more rattles from back there too. Ride your bike down one of
those cobblestone streets in Savannah and you'll think your rear fender
is falling off  2funny ...

My driver's backrest squeaks in the mount slot.  I wrapped it with electrical tape, but over the years it melted and made a huge mess and I almost needed a chain fall to get it back out of the slot.  So I cleaned it off and live with the occasional squeaks.

Exactly right!
My other ultimate seats fit perfectly and don't make noise.
After closer inspection..Ill need to adjust the tongue.
I'll compare it to the one that fits cortectly...THANK YOU!

I had a rattle coming from the back of my bike turned out to be the saddlebags and ghost brackets.
