Figured it was best to ask the Florida board to see if anyone has any info on RV'ing down in your nape of the neck for this winter. ChrisCMJ offered up a KOA in Milton, but no monthly rates. Matter of fact, seems that getting a monthly rate anywhere may be a losing proposition. So I'm looking to base my little 2018 21ft toyhauler somewhere that doesn't cost more than a grand a month so I can explore the SE on my IS rather than sitting by a cement pond. I've got a cool site in October just south of Deal's Gap to join in on Smokin Joe's FCR, just trying to get into a warmer climate for the winter. Anyone with an opinion is welcome.

I have no good info on FL RV parks.
But I have read several stories lately about random travelers being routinely turned away without solid reservations. Not just FL , but everywhere.
Planning ahead may be a PITA, but it may be a good idea.

We used to stay at Stagecoach RV park near St Augustine, it was about a grand a month, not on water, but very convenient. It is very neat, clean, and well managed. We had to wait 2 years until we could get a spot there though.
For 1 Grand a month you will end up inland, you won't find anything fancy or on water. YOu should have made reservations already for the better parks, but you may get lucky and find a cancellation.
Good luck Jim

If you haven't already discovered them, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds are wonderful place to stay for up to 2 weeks at a time. There is an app for your smartphone named Recreation.gov. If you bring up the app and put in your destination as just Florida it will show you National Forest Campgrounds as well as U S ACE campgrounds. There are several ACE campgrounds on Lake Okeechobee. There are also some just across the border in Ga near Tallahassee FL. You do not have to be affiliated with the military to stay there. They are inexpensive like $28 per night. If you have an America the Beautiful pass you get 50% off. Not sure on this but ex military may be free. They usually have electric or water and electric. Some have electric, water and sewer. They normally all have a dump station on the way out. They have very large spaces. We used them exclusively for almost the first month of our trip in May all the way to Western Oklahoma and total spent was $298. If you are 62 or older you can get the America the Beautiful Pass for $80 for life that gets you 50% off and it also gets you in all National Parks free.

There's 2 in New Smyrna Beach [15 miles south of Daytona] They have monthly rates. One of them isn't bike friendly, you can't have it at your site. I don't remember which one. They are on Mission Road. All FL State Parks are wonderful, but have a 14 day limit. They fill up fast, you can do it 11 months ahead. Don't wait. Good luck.

Appreciate all the responses from everyone, after trying to work my way down into Florida from the panhandle with little luck, I backtracked to the beginning and found that the Milton KOA had an extended stay option. So I inquired and sure enough they had a spot from November until April within my price point. Of too far from the gulf with everything I would need. Thanks to all and expect me to be joining some of the gatherings in the coming months

I met a gentleman last year who stays near Milton at the Blackwater River State Park area. Goggle it and they may have monthly rates your looking for. Good luck
