Hello,

This may be complicated.  I just traded my 2000 Interstate that I had for 20 years for a new Indian Roadmaster.  I know, I should be on the Indian forum but they just won't understand the intercom system on the Valkyrie.

So on my I/S, I had the J&M corded headsets in both my and my wife's helmet.  The intercom was always on and whatever music source I chose played in our helmets at the same time.  I could control the volume of the intercom separately from the volume of the FM radio, or CB or AUX.

But the best part is I could hear her even with the music playing.  So if her favorite song came on I could hear her singing along!!

Fast forward to today, I bought a set of Cardo Freecom 4+ headsets and installed them.  I paired them with my phone and my bike and I can listen to the music from the bike's radio through my headset.  And I seem to be able to share that music with my passenger.  But when I want to talk to her, I have to hit a button in order to open the intercom and it mutes the music.  Not what I want.

So what I am looking for is a Bluetooth intercom that has the intercom feature always open and that I can pair with my bike and share the music with my passenger while still being able to talk with the music playing.  I don't want to have to hit any extra buttons or use voice commands to open the intercom.

Can anyone suggest a device that works similar to the old Honda corded system?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

George

I have a 2018 wing and have the same issues, complicated with the addition of a CB radio.  I have J&M BT04 headsets.  Like you, I can have the intercom or listen to Music/GPS, or the CB.  The limitation is with blue tooth headset technology.  I works fine when I am alone because I don't use the intercom, but when the wife comes with me, the system screws up.

You might look into headsets that use the newer Mesh system rather than Bluetooth.
Both Sena and Cardo have have some very good ones.
Am not an expert on them but worth a look see.

Hi

I spent an hour on chat with Sena.  I settled on the 20S EVO.  Except for the fact that I have to tap the jog wheel to start the intercom it seems to do exactly what I want.

We can listen to separate  music from our phones while in an intercom call.
We can also listen to the same music while in an intercom call using music sharing.

I haven't figured everything else out yet, but so far I am very happy with them.  The sound quality is fantastic!

Thank you.
