Dave, "Big Mac", is visiting me for a couple of days.  We were thinking of riding to Bagdad Tuesday, 8-3, for lunch at the Copper Country Bar and Grill.  Anybody interested in joining us is welcome.  4 tires and AC accepted.

I'd be interested. Will you be coming through Skull Valley?

I can meet you in Kirkland at the Kirkland Bar and Steakhouse parking lot at the corner of Iron Springs Rd and Kirkland Valley Rd. What time do you think you'd be at the Bar?

Tom, I trust the surgery went well. Was it one or both eyes?

I was thinking of arriving in Bagdad ahead of the lunch crowd so looking at 11:30.  The Steakhouse in Kirkland is perfect, so I am thinking about 10:30, KSU 10:45.

George, both eyes. Left eye was 20/20 2 days after surgery. Right eye is taking longer to stabilize for some reason.

Good news and delayed good news. Maybe exercise would help like standing on a busy corner, winking at the pretty ladies as they walk by  Wink.

My Baghdad ride. had a great time seeing people that I don’t get to see often enough. BUT: After George and I parted, I started feeling bad. Then my handling went to crap. Yup, a flat rear tire. I stopped on I 17 at Happy Valley road to check. Got the pump out and it went OK for 10 miles. Flat again. Love the stiff Avon’s. It got me home at reduced speed but heatstroke got me. Still recovering under a fan with ice water after a cool shower.

You should've stopped here.  Patched it up, cooled you off, and headed over to Mesa when it cooled down.

Sorry to hear about your tire troubles, Sandy.  That is never any fun but worse in the heat.  It was great seeing you and George.  I am glad you guys made it out.  It was really great hanging out with you guys and lunch was wonderful too.  We need to do this more often in cooler weather.

Sorry to hear about your tire troubles Sandy. I have Run Flats on both of my Gold Wings for that reason.

Glad you were able to make it home safely Sandy. Tire problems and heat can be a dangerous combination. Only a couple more months and we'll be back to ideal riding conditions again.

Thanks for your concerns. I found the tire problem. The valve core leaked. Tightening didn’t work so I removed it and lubricated it. It’s good now but a new tire and stem are in my near future.
