If you want to be rich also, I will let you in on the ground floor. I’m about to start up a Bacon Smuggling operation. I figure after those Californians go a couple weeks without bacon I should be able to charge about $80 for some Black Label.

Sorry to dash your hopes, but the word is already out....Turkey bacon tastes good and is infinitely more healthy than bacon from those poor over-crowded little piggies. Lots of free-range turkey farms that would conform. Smiley

Some animal "welfare" activists....if an animal has fur or has been featured in a Disney movie and been given a name, they try to make them human. Dogs are close to (better than?) humans...pigs and turkeys not so much.

Meathead, too bad we don’t live closer. We could go in together, I could shoot the pigs and you turn them into bacon.  Cheesy

In two weeks or so will slip over the boarder to little town that make a great bacon cheese burger to see if there is a problem.   It's a great fun couple hour ride down there, hopefully they are still making them.   The town is a bit a a rebel group so they may be smuggling in the bacon.   2funny

I agree Ron. But down here in the south I think you can get shot for just mentioning the idea of Turkey bacon. They have all sorts of weird stuff out west these days. Very different

Voters voted but did they think of the unintended consequences? Seems they didn't.

If half the pork supply was suddenly lost in California, bacon prices would jump 60%, meaning a $6 package would rise to about $9.60, according to a study by the Hatamiya Group, a consulting firm hired by opponents of the state proposition.

After all it is the left coast.  Grin

I M H O keep this bull kaka in caliphonia. 2 weeks or so back 1 of the grocery stores here in town was selling 10 lb boxes of REAL BACON for $16.00! 30 lbs found it's way into my freezer.  cooldude trukey bacon and veggie burgers-send my share to the left coast. RIDE SAFE.

Mike, people aren’t taking too well to your turkey bacon.   Grin

That's OK, I was just trying to warn you about getting your hopes up too high about making gobs of money in CA...TB is pretty popular as you say....maybe more so there.

Man, it's sure a good thing I don't have to do my grocery shopping at a VRCC-approved market.  Wink
Maybe we can share a nice BLT at a lunch stop during Valhalla next month.

just bought some turkey bacon on clearance at store for like 1.65 per 12 oz. is all.  Is edible, but that is about it, not my cup of tea, but sure is healthier than regular bacon.  Is not bad if put on a sandwich or something else but eating it alone is not that good IMO.

regular bacon pricing is nuts cheapest I have seen lately 3.99 lb. and iffy to get it that low now.

After reading another "story" on msm I have a question. Why on Earth should a LAW enacted from the largest state on the left coast affect the other 49 states? Their crap law should NOT affect/infect the other sates in the least. Let the hog farmers in kaliphonia adjust their farms to their laws. Kinda simple really. They-kaliphonia-seem to be the only ones suffering from cranial rectal inversion Unless I read the article wrong. Any other states wanna go over the cliff of stupidity should make the farmers in that state follow the silly laws. And THAT IS M H O!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

You should get together with the Krispy Kreme smuggler...

Can the rest of us 47 mainland states band together and disown California?  Finish Trumps wall across and then up and around CA and then give it go Mexico. I know but I can dream

Be careful how you categorize.  California had over 6 million voters who chose Donald Trump.  Florida had less than 6 million such voters.
