I am going to get my tank painted and wondered if anyone has put the tags back on and how. That glue stuff on there is pretty tuff stuff, what do you use to re-install.

Double sided tape, trimmed to fit the emblems.  If you don't get them perfect on each side it's OK, you can't ever see them both at the same time anyway.  Straight and level is good though.  LOL

but the previous owner had saved them.  I went to an auto body repair shop and got some 3M double sided tape from them.  Put it on the badge first with the protective slick side out.  Place it on the tank and move it around until it fits perfectly to the tank.  You can measure from a couple of spots on another bike if you have one available, but the badges only will lay perfectly in one spot and conform to the tank in that spot.
