I like to stop in and eat at Jimmy John's.  They make me feel wanted and good about myself.

Wonder what the reaction would be if a person walked in with just what the sign states is required. FWIW, there's a JJ shop next to where I grocery shop, really good samiches.  Wink

I rarely eat restaurant food.  But I will go out of my way to eat there if I can.

A fellow on another forum posted this a while back.  He and his friends were attending Lobby Day in VA in support of the 2d A (and against VA gun control).

On Lobby Day in Virginia I stood with Ben's group.  I drove with two other guys straight through from DFW to do this.

On this day, this is what I found addressing food situations.

We did not pack a lunch or bring food.  During the day Jimmy Johns walked around with sample sized sandwich bites.  They gave them away to rally go'ers.  At the end of the day we were tired and cold.  We were VERY VERY HUNGRY.  As we walked back to the truck I had failed to see what was going on.  My two buddies said we can just eat at Jimmy John's.  I was never a huge fan previously.  That morning on our route in I had seen several restaurants, I thought we could eat there or there or there.  Well on the way out I realized I have on a plate carrier, reloads, a helmet, a sidearm, and a slung AR-15.  Our walk was not short.  We were starving.  Every restaurant without fail either had a sign out saying NO GUNS ALLOWED DON'T EVEN ASK, or they told us outright you have to leave, you are not welcome here.

Until we got to Jimmy John's, I (me, personally) stuck my head in the door.  I said, do you serve our kind in here.  The lady told me the line starts back there, maybe a table will clear out before your sandwich is ready, otherwise we can make it to go.  I said, yea but we all have on guns, can we come in.  She said YES, emphatically, and she said something like the more the merrier.

We went inside got sandwiches, having no tables we walked our sandwiches and drinks back to the truck and ate on the tailgate.

That is MY story.  That is not as seen on reddit.  That is not copy pasta, that is my real life lived.

The owner of Jimmy Johns supports freedom and hard work.  He has taken flak in the past for his views.

I will not forget their kindness on a day when the tards wanted nothing to do with us and we were starving.

The original owner apparently sold the company at some point before this story.  But their practices apparently continue.

Some of you may know who Lita Ford is (female rock musician/singer). A few years ago, she posted a picture on FB that I found amusing, and apparently she did too.

The experience Jess describes isn't unusual. About 10 years ago my son was president of the Republican Club at the Colorado School of Mines. Unlike most colleges, engineering schools tend to welcome conservatives! He stopped by a recently opened Jimmy John's to ask about ordering sandwiches for a meeting. The owner was very accommodating -- he provided the food for free! It may have been that he wanted to attract college business to his new store, but whatever the reason it sure was nice.

BTW the JJ founder is a big Trump supporter and contributor. Many on the left boycott them like they do Chick-fil-A and Hobby Lobby.

Like I am about ready to begin boycotting Discovery channel if they keep running gay advertisements. I got no animosity against them but I don't need it stuck in my face in advertisements.

I'll never forget my first experience at a fast food franchised sandwich shop.  It was a Subway shop in Pine Island, Florida.  It had pictures of the New York City Subway all over the walls.  As I was ordering, the kid behind the counter asked if I wanted cheese on the sandwich.  I asked, what kind of cheese do you have?  He answered "Cheese".

In response to the same question,  I have often been told, well he have two shades of yellow and some white.

Interestingly in Topeka where I worked at the time there was a apparently middle aged man who made a habit of taking walls naked along a not so private roadway.  Residents questioned the police and subsequently legal experts as to why he couldn't be stopped from such lewd behavior.  It appears early on he had indeed been arrested but was able to get off (no pun intended) with the help of an accomplished lawyer.

Explained to the questioning residents and traffickers was there is no existing law simply prohibiting public nudity.  They did say he could be arrested and charged if he made suggestive gestures with his nudity or if he seemed to be experiencing sexual gratification from the nudity.

I did not seek to know exactly how one would determine if the nude person was experiencing sexual gratification.   Shocked

I did not seek to know exactly how one would determine if the nude person was experiencing sexual gratification.

That (either getting or giving) is an essential element of all sex crimes (rape to grope to expose to peeking) and is proved by all the facts and evidence of his observed behavior.  Beyond reasonable doubt by the state/prosecutor.

Biology does give men more of a red flag than women.   Grin

And many more men are predators than women, so that's fair.

Without a public nudity prohibition (which would not have any sexual gratification element requirement because it's not a sex crime), a person walking alone, minding his own business, acting in no way attention seeking, and without a red flag, violated no law.

If this was your deal, I think it would be better to do it in a low/no population setting.  You do it on busy city/town streets, around schools or other kid places, outside churches during services, at the mall, etc., they are going to take you away and the law be cursed (and they should, even if it gets thrown out of court).

I observed nude beaches twice (not as a pervert, they were right next to pubic beaches).  Overall, humans look much better with some clothing on, with the rare or occasional exception.  Imagination usually beats reality.  And it's not considered polite to point and laugh.

From which perspective, the pointer or the person(s) being pointed at.   I'd suggest those laughing probably don't care.   blush
