I've stated before I've motocrossed when I was stationed in Japan. There Is a REASON motocross bikes are as naked as possible. I also Know they were just showin out fer the cameras. The short travel plush ride of the road has No place on a motocross track. Last couple of shots near the end of the vid showed the trunk lid on one of the G/Ws completely gone. RIDE SAFE.

No judgement on the rider in that video.   Will only say that if I can't see the bottom of a water crossing, I'm turning around.   Unless you walked the path you're taking, you have no idea how deep it is or what obstacles will need to be overcome.

I suspect that bike better run a while before shutting down to dry it out some.   Don't remember, did the left side bag go under?   That's where I carry my rain suit and lunch.   Neither of which I want wet on the inside.  Wink

My brother inherited Grandad's last car, his 1950 Chevy Deluxe (in HS).

It was not mint, but it was well taken care of.

He trailed it until it had to go to the junk yard.  Dummy.  And the body work on those would break your wrist if you punched the sheet metal, not dent.

Bonzo led us one day on a winery ride in the Shawungunk mountain region

We had to ride up a dry creek bed to get to the winery after the dirt and gravel road

I had Bonnie get off the bike going back down   !    Yowza  that was something I wont do again on purpose  no front brake is all I kept telling myself

Kind of like the first time I found myself acidentally on a black diamond mogul field while skiing in Vermont   Just suck it up and ride it down the north face of the mountain (yeah I fell like 40 times going down that run)

Those of you who give it gas going down a dry creek bed have my respect

(Have seen a couple other videos like this...perhaps the same guys. Pretty impressive riding in my books and also to see what these old Wings will put up with. But man oh man, that background music sure sucks...and being a guy who is now riding and lovingly keeping a beautiful old GL1000 in pristine condition along with my old Valk, it brings a tear to my eye seeing those proud old Wings being beat to sh** like that.  :'(    Wink

Actually, I think I could ride one of those nicely in the dirt and woods, taking care not to dump or tumble.

It's how I learned to ride... dumping and tumbling all the time.  All I ever wore for gear was jeans, Tshirt, 3/4 helmet and gloves (unless it was cold).

There is just no place close to ride one (at all).  Or I'd have one.  cooldude

Same here Jeans, T-shirt, Brogans and a 3/4 helmet. Cold I added a flannel shirt over the T-shirt. After I upgraded from the old XT500 here I went to a full face helmet.

in my mid-range years only dirt trail I still would do is with my ATV on 4 wheels not 2 anymore.

Last fall first time ever I flipped my 850lb. can am 2-up on it's side only doing 2 mph nearly coming over flipping on top of me leg got pinned underneath but was able to slide it out.    Ruined my rest of the day was about 10 miles from my truck parked and NO OIL left in crankcase drained 2 of 3 qts. out thru air box  in mere seconds  before shutting engine off.  Had to hitch hike back finally finding a truck to sit in bed to get back to truck me and my wife.

Luckily wife not on back of ATV told her to get off while I tried to traverse very uneven trail with HUGE boulder in the middle nowhere to go around either.  I also landed on my side on the ground got sore hip/legs/butt,  slight bleeding on leg, all from falling down 4 ft is all and did not feel like going ATV next day of my ATV trip either went home instead about 6 hours north of us in far northern WI.  At least I got 1 good day, well almost, of ATVING in?    NO real damage to ATV besides somewhat bad scrapes in the plastic on that one side.

My body is too old and sore to fall off anything anymore and I still stupidly jump down off 1/2 ton pickup bed tailgate onto concrete ground and sometimes JOLTS my body just doing that near 3-4 feet off the ground.  Smart thing would be to sit on tailgate and dangle feet over tailgate and jump/slide off only 2 foot drop to ground.
