Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Texas

This evening the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Texas in a lawsuit against the federal government.   [View pdf Here]  The outcome is a ruling requiring the Biden administration to reinstitute the “remain in Mexico” policy put into place during the Trump administration.  The policy requires asylum seekers to remain in Mexico while they await hearings in the United States.

The ruling was 6-3 with Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Stephen Breyer dissenting from the majority opinion.  The ruling is a significant victory for Missouri and Texas, the two states who sued over Biden’s repeal of the policy and won a favorable ruling earlier this month requiring the Biden administration to return to the Trump-era policy.

This does bring up some interesting challenges for foreign policy makers.

Just gonna have to see how this all works out.  Our president has ignored court decisions already and may ignore this one, "hoping to buy time".   If he does this again, I will whole heartedly support impeachment.   Not that doing so will make much difference.

I guess we'll see what/how he reacts but, I fully expect to hear calls for an expanded SCOTUS.
All this required was a Congressional action but, Speaker Pelosi wanted this.   She will do anything she can to destroy this nation as we currently know it.    I will not miss her, however she leaves.   I do hope it's painful though.   An embarrassing defeat would be so gratifying.

What I think Democratic "Leadership" should remember is that what goes around, comes around.   Holding a slim majority only means they are temporarily in power.   2022 is coming.

Impeachment can't come soon enough, but then we'll have to deal with the next 2 in line. Actually, now, I think he belongs in a cell next to cuomo.
