Brother riding with me in my truck. Double yellow line. 30mph speed limit , cruise set at just over 30.
Pick up comes up behind and looks like he could rub the dust on bumper. Passes on a blind uphill and snaps in front and hits the brakes. I had already slowed down as I expected it.

With my wife in the VW ,same area , 30 on the cruise , BMW came up and tailgated. Speed up to 40 , reset the cruise to a little over 40. Double yellow and usually a speed trap. In left turn lane at light and BMW followed. Made turn and ran it up to the 55 limit. BMW tried sideswiping from the right and rolled down window and flashed his IQ. I stabbed the brakes before he could hit us. Bonnie was terrified.

On another road in traffic , tailgater  on us again. No place to pass. I rolled up to a left turn lane with indicator on. He passes on the right and cuts in front of us and as expected , jumps on the brakes.

I think I may get a couple bumper stickers "please be patient , I'm reloading"!

We have an angry aggressive society now. Road rage has led to a few shootings here in AZ. It makes some think twice but others don’t. Too bad for the victims.

Here in Wisconsin I'm certain they teach tailgating in Driver's Ed. I can be rolling down the interstate at five over and always some jerk is on my bumper, plus I've had semis and gravel trucks pass me like I'm sitting still when I was doing 75. The main 2-lane adjacent to where I live is 25mph for 2 miles heading north, but invariably there's some fool pushing me. This area had one cop that drives a nondescript silver squad and will get his months quota in one afternoon on this road. Couple weeks back headed south towards the hovel, I'm doing the posted 25mph and lead-foot Louie in a red pickup waited for traffic to clear and roared past me, not slowing down once past. He didn't make it two blocks...performance award time. I tooted as I drove past and the cop smiled, he always parks where he can see that stuff from a half mile away...but you can't see him. Gives you that warm fuzzy feeling!  Wink
