Hey again, assembling the exhaust, on the right front chrome cover on the header, just aft of the foot peg is a  6mm bolt, and it seems to do nothing. I checked the fische and FSM, but seems to have no function. Can you take a quick look on yours? What's it do? Nothing?  Tongue
What say you?

If I remember correctly, no bolt goes in there. It is just a condensation relief.

Every 1500 Valkyrie right header cover has a chrome bolt installed there.  The bolt does nothing.  Apparently it was specified by the engineers/spec writers and never removed from the specs or production department.  Honda is not thorough on updating specs and correcting production as superfluous and trivial design details are found over time.  There may be economic reasons for this.  I could point out several other examples of this.  e.g., this dent in the right muffler can is another one, as well as the useless adjacent cover locator clip welded on both sides.

That could have been intended for a (never realized) center stand feature.
