 I received my Honorable Discharge from the Army.  I did my last two and a half years in Ft. Hood , Texas.
 
   7-27-66 thru 8-3-69  Made rank of Sp-5 E5

52 years ago, I was a HS Sophomore, just trying to keep my old car running and get girls to show me their etchings.  Both were only a partial success.

Yup, sadly true.... Been trying to counter that for a while now... Me, on my dad's shoulders, Spring of 1973 welcoming (I've heard troops, and I've heard POW's, not sure exactly) back from Vietnam at Lackland AFB... Evidently, we pretty much WERE the welcoming committee...

          Yup went thru it twice at Ohare. protestors tried and FAILED to make me ashamed of My Uniform and My Service to AMERICA. As I stated earlier I now KNOW How Important my DD214 is to me! RIDE SAFE.

Thank you all for your service and I’m happy you were home safe.

The summer of ‘69…I was 4 years old. I have memories of my childhood but I can’t say I actually remember 1969. Where did the time go? Huh?
