This is the one I use (well also a couple of older versions). Every battery in every vehicle or tool that has a 12 VDC battery that is not used in a regular basis (truck, motorcycle, lawn mower, tractor, deep cycle battery for astronomy) has one attached.

You must save a fortune on not replacing batteries. I do the dance of rotating my charger around to my vehicles but starting to feel lazy. I like the Genius chargers. Will charge standard, lithium, big, small. https://no.co/brands/noco-geniusNot cheap but excellent.

Mine Is an Old Montgomery Ward branded trickle charger 6 or 12 volt off a slide switch. Plate indicates 1.5 to 2 amps. Put some new batteries in service and not one problem. And near impossible to replace. And No amp or volt meter. RIDE SAFE.

Hey - I figured out YEARS ago, that using a trickle charger was making my MC batteries go 6-7 years, vs 2-3 years without it

IMO 4 amps constant is too much for cycle/atv batteries. Would be o.k. in a pinch needing a 1-2 hour boost if in a hurry, but I think the 1 to 1.5 amps having a slower charge for 5-8 hours is better to use long term. All 3 of mine are 1 to 1.5 amp rated. NEVER use a 10 amp car/truck/deep cycle battery charger though on a cycle/atv battery, do NOT ask me how I know - fried it VERY HOT bubbling after 1-2 hours tops years ago.

A trickle charger is (traditionally) a constant-on thing. They are not set and forget, at all.
My big charger has a trickle setting, with a mechanical timer or constant on.
Trickle chargers with a brain are smart chargers. I have a half dozen of those.

Been using this for 14 yrs. .75 ma. rating thus called a battery tender not a trickle charger which usually is a 2 amp. rating.
