The ride up Friday was beautiful. Sunny skies and fluffy clouds.

I used I 40 to get to Asheville and then Tunnel Rd to access the BRP.

Very little traffic on the BRP even around the touristy areas.

A good ride up Mt. Michell into low cloud at the top. Still  no elevation sign in the parking lot.

A so so burger at https://www.freebornes.com/ wouldn't make this a lunch destination in the future and it seems they cater to 1%ers.

I had parked next to a Triumph twin and as I was getting ready to leave the owner and his two Hardey riding friends also prepared to leave. The Triumph owner asked me if I liked my Valkyrie and I told him I did and he answered in a like vein to my question to him.

As I was backing out I noticed the short pipes on his bike and asked him what it sounded like. Without sitting on the bike he tried to start it but couldn't . I suggested maybe it had been parked next to the Harleys for too long and he laughed and replied yep it can rub off.

He eventually did what was necessary to get it started and it sounded pretty good but too loud for my ears. I told him I liked it and added I'll just ride away on my sowing machine which got a chuckle from him.

The bad/good thing about the 1800 is that first gear is so short but 2nd gear is great for pulling away. And pull away I did in 2nd getting to about 6,500 rpm before shifting into 3rd by which time Freebornes was way back behind me.

Much merriment in the parking lot Friday night.

Saturday morning and some headed off to Mt. Mitchell and I went off nosing around the local roads. Lots of dead ends.

More fun in the parking lot Saturday night.

By the time I opened my motel room door Sunday most bikes had left.

I had a route kinda planned out going the "long way" home via the Snake/Shady Valley.

A couple of wrong turns and a dead end or 2 and I was back home.

Good to see those we only to meet with a few times a year. Some notable absences but not surprising considering the Wuhan plague and recent bad weather.

When you leave a peach in a saddlebag for a week or two. The stink has finally gone after leaving the abg open last night.

Thanks Paul.   cooldude

Quite the science experiment.  It's probably half way to being penicillin.  I know it's tempting, but I would avoid tasting it.  Grin
