I have a new question for a new problem. I don't have any directionals.I had what I would call a funky switch before I took it apart.I cleaned it and lightly greased the parts. So now I flip the switch to left or right and let it go and no directional either side, but if I hold the
Switch in either position the directional works let go it stops. Any thoughts

Agreed, the contacts aren't working as designed but, go on the tech board and ask there.   That's where the experience is at.........

Concur on all this advice.... Or if you get sick of fighting it like I did, you can buy a new switch, the whole shabang for a little over $100... Part #6 here should be everything you need, find where the wires go, unplug, plug in the new one and Bob's your uncle:

(Part# 35020-MZ0-670 btw)

Greased?  The switch remaining in place is dependent upon friction, isn't it?

my guess switch starting to go bad.  Last year Big BF replaced mine was there when he did it the handlebar part is not bad but runs up on my 98 tourer into the headlight bucket and that was a chore to re-route wires and put the headlight bucket back in place.  Big hands is not your friend here just glad Big BF had TONS of patience.  He took a pic on his cell phone and blew it up finely in detail of my old switch in the handlebar once out and could tell it was shot vs. a new one.   Since I had no operable horn,  he wanted me to buy his quad horns.  Should have taken him up on that offer back then, but told him at the time I just put in my clutch and REV the snot out of my cobra exhaust has worked a few times prior to get people back into their own lanes.
