Working on cable routing and I cant decide which way I like the OEM Cable clip holders... what is stock?
They are kinda P clip.... so P up or P down? (yes I am a whackjob)  Cool

Let the stationary side of the clamp protect the locking mechanism. So, use the orientation in your right photo (opening towards the rear of the bike).

I can't remember exactly, but over a decade ago when I added taller risers, I needed to turn my handlebar wire guides around 180* to give just a bit more flexibility and reach on those wires.  That's what the instructions said anyway.

The orientation should have the p facing forward as in the second picture.  That way the  wiring is mostly hidden from the riders view and also keeps the wiring further away from the tank when the handlebars are at full lock left or right
