how much I HATE doing taxes? Just finished 2020 taxes with 3 days to spare... whew! After my recent audit experience, I was over cautious and I'm sure I gave those bastages more than I should. As I'm sure I've said before, I would rather get a root canal... at least they numb you up for that.

We pay WAY too much money to professionals to handle our government theft paperwork filings every year. Money well spent, sadly. Edit to add: (And if this isn't "Pissing and moaning" I dunno what is! )

The hardest part of taxes for me is resisting the urge to write my true feelings in the check memo line that gets sent with the return. And to the county for my truck/bikes and house.
Dear corksoakers.... (is putting it mildly)
Because you just know they keep a file of who to give close scrutiny and extra rectal intrusion.

Edit to add: (And if this isn't "Pissing and moaning" I dunno what is! ) I do hire a professional. However, in my experience, I do the heavy lifting (collecting receipts, going through CC statements, and on and on. Then he just plugs the numbers into his fancy software. IMHO, the gov't already steals more than "my fair share."

Believe me I understand, I was on their sh!t list for quite a few years because I laughed at something an agent said on the phone... apparently, it was not so amusing to him. He must have red-flagged me; I was audited routinely and they would go back as far as legal, to ensure maximum penalties and interest (if any errors were uncovered).

I enjoy paying my taxes and do it willingly every year. IRS folks are the best friends you can have. (They might be reading this thread, ya never know). Feeling grateful for those who want to take care of me. Rams

I don't know anyone that enjoys this except for my wife.
We too pay to have this done but I used to check things over looking for what I could and usually found a few more deductions. But, I'm older and smarter, errrr, lazier now so I just have him mail them in.
We haven't had too much trouble with the feds, but, when we did they were decent about it. They'll get what they want.

I am not a fan as well, but did not pay any big sums due to not making big sums. I like riding my bike on pavement better then dirt and gravel.

Edit to add: (And if this isn't "Pissing and moaning" I dunno what is! ) I tell my clients that if I can't save them more than they pay me, they should fire me. I don't get fired very often. I agree: sadly, money well spent. If the system were easier, I bet you would pay more. Congress can't get bribes for favors in a simple system.

My guy has gotten worse as time passes. P.S. I would happily pay more, if I didn't have to take a run on the hamster wheel every year.

I normally do/done our taxes without much problems for over 50 years other than the occasional screw ups. But my Mom recently went home to the Lord, so have her taxes to do (have done her taxes the last two year), plus will have additional money coming in. So will probably in list the aid of a tax person to help out. Should be interesting.
Really dislike letters coming in from the IRS. Make me nervous.

I thought that comes out of our gasoline taxes, registration and usage fees, license plate fees, Parking and traffic tickets, municiple parking fees, bridge, tunnel, and road tolls, etc.
