So the triplets were invited to a neighborhood kid's birthday party this weekend, and when I saw the invite, the first thing I thought of was Willow and what his reaction to this professionally made, proofread and printed birthday invitation would be, so of course I had to share it here...

The party was an excellent time by the way, the mother texted me and said the triplets were the most well mannered and behaved little kids she's had the pleasure of being around, so much so they were invited back the next day to swim and eat some of the 7 left over pizzas from the party the prior day.

My mom told us the story many times (after growing up), that on the fairly rare occasions we would dress up a little and go out for a family dinner at a restaurant (all 3 not in school yet), complete strangers would come over and tell her we were the best behaved children they had ever seen, and asked how they did it.

Knowing my mom, she probably told them it was judicious but enthusiastic use of a rubber hose.

Hmmm...doesn't appear to have been proof read very well. It's spelled "you're"...not "your" which is a common yet very basic mistake I continually see on this board.  Wink

I do agree with Valkorado, it sounds like "you're" raising those youngsters well. I always enjoy reading about you taking them out to the property for a little shooting practice. Reminds me of my youth and time spent with both my dad and his brother. His brother was such a good shot I've watched him close down shooting galleries at a carnival.  cooldude

It doesn’t have the same effect when it’s put in quotation marks. (Your not doing it to full effect)  Wink

Well, I couldn't have ppl thinking it was unintentional.  How about, "I love hearing about you're spawn."  2funny

I’m thinking “I would love to here about you’re spawn” would be more appropriate.  Smiley

It's okay for people to brag about they're kids.  Especially if there kids are trying to do they're very best.  Wink

Re. spelling...you know how difficult it is to walk when you guys pull a person's leg like that?  Grin  I figured it would precipitate such a response. If nothing else, it tells me you read it. It's just the former teacher in me still coming out, nothing personal.  Wink

As a former teacher, John, you should realize that you should've probably been your.  Of course that does depend a bit upon whether you enjoy reading about Serk or you enjoy reading about his taking the children out to the property.   Wink

... I always enjoy reading about you taking them out to the property for a little shooting practice. ...

Looks like one of those anomalies where either word is appropriate. I'm not an English major, but did have three different parents that were also teachers...especially my stepmom, an English teacher. I quickly learned to ask in person rather than write it out in note fashion, my folks would always find fault in something. Later in life it put food on the table by being a stickler on spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, etc.

Me too! Just need to decide what and how much...of either.  Wink

An old example learned as a kid:
"Have some, honey, with your watermelon."  Or...
"Have some honey with your watermelon."

I like your's better.  Grin
