Hey this used to be a very active board with lots of folks checking all the time.  I know we all are aging, our bikes have changed and our priorities have changed but who's still out there?  We have keep this board so very polite, politically chatter free and just a good well spring of communication that it would be a shame for it to peter out.  I know all good things must eventually come to an end but I'm not ready yet.

C'mon folks, sound off and check in!

I don't seem to ever have much to say but I try to stick my head in the door at least a couple times a week.

P.S.   I sure do appreciate Ron's pictures.

Sound off? Seems like the perfect job for me! Always sounded a little off... Doctor said I could start putting a little more weight on the ankle! OK! Done with the diet!

Still here! Rode this past Sunday with TonyC and Rich (Orca). We were discussing all that came and went. Many not riding anymore or just dropped out of sight.
After more than twenty years of the formation of the VRCC it's pretty cool that I still ride with some occasionally, RickT, Raybo, TonyC. Rich, Karen. I've had a few bikes since the Valkyrie, and joined a few groups but none come close to the VRCC.

Don't feel bad, the Wisconsin board has only had one entry in the last year, and that was from the VRCC about Inzane XXI

I check this board a couple times during the week.  When it was really active, you would have to check it every day or you would miss something.  I still enjoy Ron’s daily pictures.  Like Gary said, it’s been over twenty years of great memories and I look forward to occasional rides.  I consider you guys my family and that will never change.  I’m actually surprised that this board is still available and somebody is paying for it.  I can’t explain why my riding habits have changed. Now my bike will sit in the garage for weeks before somebody says “hey let’s go for a ride “.  Thanks Tony for getting out of the house!!!
Take care all,  ><>

You guys are doing pretty good. The SoCal board has mostly dried up. I enjoy how RonBou’s pics also. (Even though I don’t know the people in them)

I hopped on the Valk train too late in the game to have been to any of the rides back in the day. I have met Rich (Orca) and rode with him multiple times now. We met through a mutual friend and used to do Sunday morning rides fairly often. I haven't been on either bike much at all this summer due to personal reasons pulling me in other directions. I visit the VRCC forum pretty much daily. I usually just hit the "show unread posts since last visit" and go through the day's postings. I rarely visit any of the subforums in particular. I enjoy Ron's pictures, even though I was not associated with any of them. Some other forums I frequent have the option to "react" to posts. At least you can see that someone was there. I don't always have anything to say about a post or picture, but that doesn't mean I didn't see it and/or like it.

All of the forums I visit have taken a hit due to Facebook groups and other social media. Lately, if it weren't for the "pot-stirring forum", this whole place would be quite a bit less busy.

I check the board all the time. Even though I never owned a Valk and had to deal with the injustice of the oppression I was faced with. And now I'm sans motorcycle, I'm sure I'll be shoved further down the ladder.
That being said tongue-in-cheek, I consider all of you my friends, even Bernie and Karen.
I miss all the rides and gatherings. I miss the spontaneous adventures.
An update on our lives, Kathy is not a candidate for surgery, (risks involved) so more chemo. I've recovered from the hit in May. Insurance company's suck. That's all from here. Miss everyone terribly.

Sorry to hear Kathy has underlying conditions that will prevent her from surgery Paul....
Sounds like your lawyer didn't squeeze the offending party hard enough....Insurance companies are out to make money and not spend money, even if they are your insurance company.
I have put a grand total of 50 ft. on my bike this summer...Plenty other enjoyments in life to be had besides a m/c.....
An adult beverage swilling gathering is most definitely in order.....and not soon enough my friend !!!

Kathy's news was a kick in the balls. We were hoping surgery and cancer free by her son's wedding. Now she will be still in Chemo and she's not happy about it. She is tired all the time.
Short of suing the person that hit me,(someone I know) the lawyer says I should be even with the hospital bills. They covered the bike well enough but rest is just a sh*t show.
But we still love each other and we'll get through all of this.

Paul, we'll have to meet at the Hometown Diner in Rindge, NH some Saturday or Sunday this Fall. We can meet you and Kathy there. What days work best for you and Kathy? Let us know. We'll schedule it and post it here.  I'm sure we can get a good turn out. cooldude

Tony. Nice pic buddy. Well, my hair is shorter, the beard is trimmed and the overhang is a little less.
I will talk to Kathy about meeting at the diner. She is very self-conscious of the bandana she wears, so it may take some convincing. But I will keep working on it.
We are going back to Camden Columbus Day weekend for our anniversary. But other than that I'll see what I can do.

Tony, Kathy says Oct 1 in Rindge is an open date. Let me know if that works for you. She also said to mention to you that Uncle Larry has a book signing at the Tatnuck Bookseller in Westboro next Saturday, the 25th, at 1pm. His book is "Unto the Alter of God." It's his life story of seminary, and life.
You can google it.
Let me know about the 1st.

I can do Friday October 1st. If it rains, I'll take the car. Sherry may or may not be joining. I'll post details as we get closer to the date. If others have Friday off, they may be able to join.   cooldude
