Alive or dead? I fear the worst. If she is alive why wouldn’t the boyfriend be doing everything in his power to help locate her? Find a that matter, what kind of boyfriend travels cross country with his girlfriend then leaves her stranded and then drives her vehicle back home? What a nightmare!

I do hope she is found safe, but I doubt it from what I've read. I find it interesting analyzing what makes one of the ~600,000 missing people reported every year in this country stand out and grab the national attention. Granted, most of those 600,000 are runaways, or short term. But a large number of them aren't. Not detracting from the importance of any one of them! My attention is peaked because after 67 years, I have a granddaughter, never had a daughter. I try to imagine my emotions in the circumstances, especially with so little to go on. I know my grandsons could find themselves in harms way too and I would feel no less frantic but it’s hard to discount the emotions of protecting our girls.

There's a reason the top suspect is always the spouse, boyfriend, family member (at least to start).
Actually several:
Most murders are by family and friends. (not random criminals)
And they simply have more contact with and knowledge of the victims.
A category of common law murder was created just for enraged spouses.... long ago.

When answers are needed quickly and in entirety, a good dragging would yield best results. Stop & go until enlightened satisfactorily. That's just for my girls, but then it would get ugly after that. The older I get, the less life in prison is a deterrent. |

Unless he has skipped the country, he is just trying to buy time. If he ever had feelings for this girl his conscience will make any future miserable. The whole time the media has been camped out at his parents home, I never believed he was there. His legal advisers are doing their job but they must feel pretty dirty. If she was alive when he left her, her existence has surely been terrible since.

So sad. As was mentioned, there are too many of these cases and this one took the media spotlight because of Gabby's YouTube celebrity. But she seemed like such a good, sweet girl. Her dad described her as, "the coolest chick you'll ever meet". I guess they have already informed her parents, so it looks like they're sure it's her.

Life as he knew it is over for Laundrie. I am very skeptical that he ever entered the “swamp”. There is no future for him there. Does he have the finances for an extended time on the lamb, who knows? He will be paying a high price sooner or later.

I'm guessing that's not the case but you can hope. If he went into the swamp I don't believe that he did so with the intent of committing suicide. I also don't believe that he is tough enough to survive the swamp. |

That is not entirely true, though there may be some merit to this argument, but that does not make what happened to her any less miserable. Dads everywhere should carefully vet their daughters boyfriends (and future husbands). I know I could have used some vetting on a couple of my girlfriends (back in my youth). At lest I knew better than to bring them aorund to meet my folks. Loose morals can be a lot of fun, but that needs to be a short term rental, not a long term commitment.  |

I use to trend toward the trashy short term rental type myself. Apparently so much so I married one which also turned into a short term rental. An expensive rental at that. |
