Just watched some Youtube video from the police via NBC of the road side stop they carried out on the van.

Didn't watch it all but the cops involved in the stop must be second guessing themselves and wondering what they missed that could have avoided what happened.

Sure makes one wonder about this Laundrie punk.  That police interview was telling.  Gabby was scared, apologetic, almost trembling in fear and on the verge of having a nervous breakdown.  The incident was apparently written up as a mental health issue.  I will not second guess law enforcement, but there were definitely some signs of domineering abuse there and it most likely wasn't initiated by this petite and frightened young lady.  Especially considering Laundrie was seen slapping her around on the streets of Moab.  Sounds like an ongoing pattern of mental and physical abuse to me.

Someone needs to find this turd or he should man up for once and turn himself in.  I'm guessing more people than the police are actively searching for him.  Some may pursue a different form of justice than that which is permitted by LEOs -- one tthat won't involve his Miranda rights.

Didn't watch it all but the cops involved in the stop must be second guessing themselves and wondering what they missed that could have avoided what happened.

She did not speak up or out for herself.  She stuck with an abuser, and he probably killed her.

I represented some 300 women in divorces.  A number of them came to me with missing teeth, black eyes, broken jaws and noses and ribs, and one enucleated eye (I can never forget).  None of them was the first time.  Most had had it, finally.  But a couple were like.... I know he loves me, he's trying to quit drinking, we're in real hard times financially, sometimes I'm a real bitch, etc.  I told them all it will only stop when you are dead or laying in intensive care.  Get out, go to parents/family, live in your car, go to a shelter (I had a list with contact numbers).  I charged these women $150 and a $30 filing fee (if there was no custody fight, which I never had).  I talked several into filing assault charges, personally contacted prosecutors, attended their trials (pleas), asked the judges to NOT give immediate sentences, but give suspended jail on condition that he not touch or steal from her, so we could get the divorce done before they killed her (the typical 30-60-90 day jail sentences never lasted as long as the divorce took, and they'd get out looking for vengeance).  All at no charge at all.  Word got around, and I got more abused women than I ever wanted (or even knew existed).  And this work was 90% counselor/psychologist, and only 10% lawyer.

I kept a .45 auto in my desk drawer; it was for criminals and criminal husbands.

I have a special hatred for wife and girl beaters and bullies in general.  A very few are able to give as good as they get, but most just took beatings with no resistance.  Criminal defense work was a breeze by comparison, and I had some very bad boys (but they don't hit or kill you, you're all they got).  This is what made me hate my career choice, and I left private practice forever.

man this guy will be caught soon and surely hope locked away for life.  Is sad so many young females take this abuse way too long not speaking up for HELP....   ONCE, ONLY ONCE,  my daughters boyfriend in high school started talking smack (spreading rumors) totally untrue thru social media.  I told my daughter let me see the texts, etc. she was crying and very very very upset shaking, etc. I darn near got my shotgun and going over to shoot him (injure) him, NO JOKE.  Wife talked me out of it, called the county police,  put a restrainer order on his butt, police officer we knew/talked to delivering it in person stating ONE more text or any other kind of contact with my daughter and he will be in jail.  That took care of it luckily for him.   I do NOT take lightly crap like that will NEVER tolerate it.

Back in my day,  I took care of it myself my way by beating the snot out of kids talking smack.  My best friend in high school got pummeled so bad by me bleeding, bruises, crying all the way home to mommy/daddy, as soon as I got home I told my Dad he was going to get a call soon from kid's parents explaining to Dad he deserved it.  Dad just told his dad over phone maybe your kid should not have done what he did he was warned to NOT do it by me several times.

Two other incidents with daughters boyfriends in high school as well broke them up pretty darn quick  did not like either one hoodlums and cocky.  Why do all the good girls go for bad boys?

Just a few months ago very local about 40 miles away from me a 23 year son killed his parents. What could have the parents had done so horrible to their own child to make the kid want to kill his parents?

I’ve been trying to keep my comments to myself on this because what I will say may offend but here goes.

If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck and tastes like a duck then it must be a duck, BUT I’m a strong supporter of innocent until proven guilty. The court of public opinion is not ours to decide the outcome here. There are 3 sides to every story…hers, his and the truth. What the truth is we may never know.

Having 2 daughters of my own I’ve tried to express to them the importance of being a strong independent person and my wife and I have repeatedly tried to educate them on the signals of a controlling, manipulating and abusive person.

We’ve stressed upon them through their school years how important it was for them to educate themselves, do well in school so not to be dependent on another person for their support…to have a career not just a job. Tried to teach them to walk away when the signs of trouble begin to surface because they never really get better.

Now that being said, we’ve also told our daughters repeatedly just because you’re a girl doesn’t give you a free pass to be abusive yourself, and don’t be an instigator either because there are girls/women out there who intentionally push buttons to get a reaction and if you push the right buttons, in the right order you may end up with consequences which you’re not ready for.

I don’t know if this girl had psych issues or not. I don’t know if she was as innocent as she’s projected as. To be honest I don’t think she was, but that’s just my opinion. Did she deserve to die, not at all.
I wish the officer would have placed her in custody after her striking her boyfriend, at least she may still be alive.

Assuming he is the killer I do hope that an arm or leg will be DNA identified and the rest of the body be resting in an alligator or two.

I'm kinda thinking that too, but, doubt he'll be found if that happens. It'll certainly save the taxpayers time and expense. I would like to hear what he would have to say though.

Now we find out that he charged $1000 on someone's credit card recently. I didn't hear how he came upon the card. This guy sure seems like a DH and that his parents are enablers.

That’s why they issued an arrest warrant, unauthorized use of a debit card.

yikes, better check my credit card again.  Been pre-occupied last month before credit card came due and 3rd time in my life a fraud purchase of 2500 bucks at Lowes in TX was charged to my credit card.  I disputed it and cc company is crediting me back next month.  How does this happen?  Now, old card is no good and cc company issued me brand new credit cards.  That means a few things I have autopay on now have to re-setup with new cc number.

I suspect he is in Mexico by now hiding.  Why else would he run if not guilty even if it was an accident, one would come clean and admit it was an accident, right?

Credit cards ? Ours gets hacked every once in awhile, but, the card company is on it before we are. They call and ask. Some over the years have been large purchases, but, the last [ last month] was from California for food [ Grubhub and Doordash]. The company sends the cards overnight.

20 years ago, I found I had been in Ireland buying expensive knick knacks.

10 years ago, I found I had ordered a Bissell carpet cleaner and chemicals, from Chicago.

Those got caught by the Co, and handled properly, and new cards.

I have one card with a giant limit, I almost never use.

I have another with a low limit I always use, especially on line.  Since I pay that one in full every month for 30 years, the Credit Union did me a favor and increased the limit to giant without even asking me.   crazy2

I have to remember to call and let them know before I leave the state, or I get jacked up at the gas pump.   tickedoff   (I finally called and told them to permanently add the 4 states I travel through to go see family.  I should have done this sooner.)

On another forum, some guy asked at what age he should get his children a credit card.  The consensus was when they were about 72 years old.   Grin

I recall someone thought 'rona wasn't newsworthy, back before it kicked the whole world's butt.

Per the FBI, they found his backpack and his notebook and a body. The area the body was found was until recently under water.

So they can't say it's him, but.....

What I find odd is that his parents agreed to join the search today.

...and then they find him. (Maybe)

I didn’t know the parents found him. I’ve had my suspicions that the parents have covered for him and helped him. But I can completely understand they would want to help search for him.

The report on the news was they came to help after they were contacted to say the FBI had "found something".

Kind of sounds like the FBI has some suspicions also.

That may be a jump.  I would guess the "help" was in identifying the objects found.

That would make more sense, and seem less suspicious... They way I initially read it was the parents agreed to help search, THEN the items were found, but if it was the items were found, THEN the parents were brought in, makes more sense...
