My father in law rode a bike until he was 86.  His last bike was a Goldwing, but prior to it, he had Indian’s, BMW’s, etc.  Dad passed away in July … just 26 days shy of his 103rd birthday.

Rick (my better half) and his siblings are currently cleaning out the house and getting it ready to sell.  Rick has found some old bike parts that he believes are for a BMW.  He said there is a fairing or two and several other items.  He is going to try to send me pictures tomorrow.

My question….does anyone here have an old (1960’s or 70’s probably) BMW?  Do you know anyone who might be interested in the parts?  It seems a shame to just toss them, so he asked me to see if I could find them a home.  Currently they are in central Indiana.

Thanks!
Janice

I know nothing about this group or how good they are, but might sign up over here and check the interest among them?

If in doubt , contact Morrie's Place in Richmond Illinois.  It is a long story behind how the business came to be.

Check scarcity and demand before just giving them away for charity.   Some classic and vintage bike stuff can rake in an impressive pile of gas money.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Serk …. I tried the Vintage BMW site. You have to pay for a membership in order to list items for sale.  Since we are looking to give these items away, that wasn’t an option.

Your suggestions did however, plant the seed to search Facebook for a Vintage Motorcycle page. Voila!  There is one, so the items are posted there. We’ll see what happens.

I took my Ultimate seat to an Upholstery shop today to have it cut down some.  The guy there is interested in the Goldwing seat, so perhaps it’ll get me a small discount.

Depending on what the parts are, I might be interested or know someone that might be.  My other bike is a '68 R90/2 conversion.  ( '68 /2 frame with R90 engine, drive train, and custom swingarm to use the newer rear-end.)  Do you have a list?  I'm aware of what's involved in selling BMW parts.  We had to clean out my Father-in-law's garage when we moved him to Maryville with us.  He had 5 BMW's and parts for 6 more.
