Excellent weather for the weekend.
50 when I left home Friday morning wearing my Gerbing liner under my mesh jacket. The liner along with windshield, brush guards, heated gloves and grips kept the chill off me. My brief ride on the BRP saw the temperature drop to the mid 40's.
An uneventful ride to Clayton apart from one animal encounter.
House on a sharp downhill bend and I hear a dog barking and see a dachshund coming at me. He's at full gallop and with the assist of gravity he's going pretty fast. Looking in my mirrors it looks like a ground hugging missile with swept back floppy ears following me.
I checked into the Days Inn and went to Ingles to get some supplies for the weekend including 2 big red apples for Jack the donkey. He was at his field gate and was happy to see me.

I was so excited to see him I forgot to press start on video as he ate the apples. He's such a gentle donkey he eats the apples with great care and knows not to BITE MY FINGERS OFF.
Zipped down to the Blue Ridge Honey Co for a couple of jars of Blueberry Honey.
https://www.blueridgehoneycompany.com/Back to the motel to get cleaned up and out with some friends I made in Clayton during the 3 years I lived there. Phew, too much fun and wobbled into my room around 10p.m. to chug water and a couple of Aleve.
https://www.relive.cc/view/vKv2yGrnp4qSaturday morning started off breezy and chilly. It was good that the ride time got pushed back to 10 a.m.
I was concerned about the size of the group as in the past it was common to leave with X and come back with X - Z. Mainly because riders don't listen and get separation anxiety when making turns and don't wait for the rider behind. Long story short THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN!
My perspective from the front was that it was an uneventful ride on some of the scenic back roads of north Georgia. I didn't hear anything contrary to that. I did make sure I waited for every rider at some of the turns after long sections of the ride. That does help to keep the group together.
Two Wheels of Suches was pretty busy but I think everybody ordered food and was served fairly quickly.
The ride back to Clayton was good I bought some carrots and went to feed Jack and a few of us opted to eat at La Pachanga which is part of the Days Inn building.
I watched some of the FL / TN game with a few of the attendees.
Yeah, yeah I know I have the wrong date. I can't edit it with the free app.

A couple of deer encounters. A pair of does on the grass verge to my right. One goes right into the woods. Her friend starts to follow which was a fake play because she cut back across in front of me and did a very graceful leap across most of the road. I think she wold have got a silver at the deer games.
The next pair of does were far enough ahead of me that I just slowed down in case there more following them.
A bit further along a couple of chicken decided to play....chicken. The laggard of the two gave an indignant cluck as she had to launch a quick flight to miss my front wheel.
Onto the BRP and I was above the clouds for the rest of the ride home.
