What battery do you recommend for a 98 Valkyrie Tourer?

Have a couple of extra lights.

Bought this for my bike two years ago. Probably one of the better investments I've made.
Never had it on a trickle charger and had to let the bike sit for a while in 2020. (I started her up at least once a month to keep things coated and dry any condensation out of the crankcase)

It's spendy but I've never had any issues with it.

Yes, I noticed that.   Angry

I suppose the only thing that hasn't gone up is oxygen, but I'm sure their working on that too.

Like taxes on joggers for wasting air.

WOW, I just replaced mine for $55.00 at the local Bumper to Bumper auto parts store.
At $269.00, I could almost buy a new one every year for 5 years and be money ahead.

I originally was intending to buy a new Yuasa via Amazon, but the price jumped 30 dollars on me. (Oh, never mind.)  Still looking for one, I found this Interstate......Its made for Yuasa in Taiwan, and they stick the Interstate label on it.
I charged it 24 hours at 1 amp..... So far so good, cranks strong, runs strong...  no complaints. Fair deal.

I used to run Odyssey PC-680s in my 'Wings. Never had a starting issue and they were in service for years. Might check into those if there's a Valkyrie equivalent.

I've seen that happen with various battery brands, but never with Yuasa.

Sure. If you like carrying 5 pounds more than the Lithium and putting it on a trickle charger every down season. On the last bike I had, I abused the Lead-acid battery (running it flat, not trickle charging, etc) and it always failed me when I wanted to start riding. Put the Li battery on, treated it the same way and even when it got close to flat I could leave the ignition on for a few minutes and it would warm the battery enough to "recover" and it would start.

I'm willing to spend a little money to not have to deal with some of those issues.

To each their own tho. You do you. Smiley
