I don't guess any of us do a pre-trip safety check every time we go out, and they are totally unnecessary altogether as long as nothing mechanical fails. But, if the brake lamp burns out how are you going to know unless maybe somebody shovels their front bumper up your rear end? Much less painful to check the ole phat gal over once in awhile. The brake light filament of a Valk Standard or Tourer can go out w/o the running light burning out. Add some P3's and you build in your own back up. Might be too form/function for your taste?

Now, how 'bout some Wolf Brand Chilly - neighbor! ~Jeff

Since getting the IS I have always before taking off walk around her to check the bags and make sure they are latched down tight. Now if i could apply that to other things  Grin

I thought a pre-trip safety check meant:  1)  did anybody see you buying that weed    2)  who's watching out for the cops  .. and last but not least ..  3)  we are going to crash here for the night aren't we? Roll Eyes

$150 for 10 LED's seems a bit steep.

I took an advanced riders class last year and part of the class was a pre-trip inspection. Everything seemed fine until the instructor got to my bike (the Harley). He looked at my rear wheel sprocket and found the spider-net bungee that I lost the week before complete with 4 hooks. I thought some neighborhood kids took it off my bike seat. It was wound so tight it took the guy about 15 minutes to cut the thing out. I was SHOCKED! It could have been a lot worse.... but I always take a peek now before I get on! Shocked
