This probly wont impress most of you’all….but it did me.    While riding the Texas Hill Country ladt weekend We stopped at the Hill Country Motorcycle Stop out of Leakey Tx to get a hamburger and browse around in the store area and pick up a tshirt.    They had a device that plugs into your battery tender connection and gives you a usb port to charge your cell phone or other devices.

Pretty cool…. Somebody was thinking outside the box….I bought one.

Yup, I've had one for years in my saddlebag, haven't had occasion to use it yet but one more option out there if it's needed...

I'm going to have to get one before I do a "long trip" so I can keep my phone charged.

As our seats are easily removed, I attached a plug in socket on top of the battery cover with a 2 prong plug thus using the battery tender plug attached to my battery if needed. Have yet to use it but its there if needed. My tender plug is a 10 gauge variety.

Since I live by my cell phone, and often my passenger does as well, I have a 12VDC accessory socket (Used to be called a cigarette lighter socket) wired under the seat with a dual port quick charge USB adapter plugged in to it. I run one of the USB cables out from the back of the driver's seat and up to the pocket in my Utopia backrest for my passenger's use, the other one I run out from under the front of my seat, under the tank bib and up to my cell phone holder on the handlebars.

(I have a slightly different setup on my Interstate, since it has a wireless charging cell phone holder on the handlebars, I have that wired directly to the bike's 12V system, but same idea.)

I went the hard route and have a USB module under the seat with two ports.  I have a cord routed under my tank bib and comes up inside the pouch.  I coil the cord inside the pouch when not in use.  Have a set of buttons on the clutch reservoir where one turns it on, so i can charge the phone when bike is off (for when I do fuel stops), but not run the battery down powering the usb thingy when I am not riding.
I did all of this because I am now using my phone as my gps and music, instead of my old Zumo 450.
