Need help identifying bolt size please
«

I wish to replace the screws that fasten the carburator top covers.
See part 25 in this parts fiche:
http://www.hdlparts.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=148927&category=MOTORCYCLES&make=HONDA&year=2000&fveh=3479
The description reads:
SCREW-WASHER (4X18)
What does the 4X18 stand for?
I wish to replace these with Stainless Steel Metric Socket Head Cap Screws,
as shown in this link:
http://www.fastener-express.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=246
However since I don't know how to interpret the thread size and pitch of the OEM screw, I'm in the dark.
Any insight would sure be appreciated!

Here's the one you need. The .7 is the thread pitch of the screw. The 4mm is the diameter and the 18mm is the length of the bolt below the head.

Thanks!!!
BTW how did you know the thread pitch? Did you measure it, or was it mentioned somewhere else?

I knew from previous experience dealing with metric standards.
