I know this was discussed a week or so ago, I went to the Honda dealer to order tires, the top of the line tires were backordered Dec-Jan-Feb? There were NO back tires avalible, front tires were available from just three brands, the parts guy told me to try on line because they only deal with three tire distributors. on the last tire discussion someone posted a link to Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, I ordered Bridgestone  Exedra Touring, I took their last rear tire sorry, slim pickings. Good Luck!

I'm wondering if I should track down tires now because I will need a back tire in the spring at least.

I have a car with one odd tire on it. Bought the tires at Sam's Club so they came with a warranty. I got a big nail in it so they were going to replace the tire but they could not find my tire anywhere. End result is they said pick another tire, turns out most of the tires for my car were unavailable. I had two choices, that was it.

I will be needing new front tire in a couple K miles.  Been running Dunlop  404.  I went looking in several places where over the years I have been able to buy this tire.  NO luck so far.  Hopefully after the first of the year things will be better when I need a new tire.

I am not an Amazon backer, but look there.
I was just browsing and found Shinko 777's (what I run in www), some Pirelli, Michelin, Avon, and Continental. They do not have all sizes, but you should be able to find what you want by going a size up or down, if you are lucky you will find the factory size...

Needing to replace a pair on my tourer.  Been watching several online sources and it appears that they are starting to get stocked up again.  Saw Metzler 888's in stock yesterday.

The lack-of-supply chain has got me trying new things. I put an ME 888 on
the 1800, tested it out today, seems good  cooldude

Avons were back-ordered, I have a Shinko for the back of my Tourer.
The Avon back-order wasn't as severe as maybe I thought, I have
one of those now too... I don't like "old" tires, I'll have to try
and wear the Shinko out this winter and spring... Unless I find time to
remove the 1500's rear wheel, it'll be the 1800 for the Veteran's
Day ride in Tennessee. Ah well... when I have to ride all day to get
somewhere, it is nice to have the 200 mile range of the 1800.

Which one is bigger?

I need a complete set for my I/S project and a front to match the rear I put on the I/S partway through last riding season. Powdercoating spare wheels, new meats and guts including rotors then swapping the polished ones for the black set and putting the others on my Tourer.

Suppose I ought to grab some 888s and another 404 (front) If I can find them.

To save some time looking, Revzilla has the Metzler 888's front and rear.  They also have the Dunlop E4s for the front.  J&P also has the Metzler 888s and Dunlop E4s, front and rear.

Saturday on a lark I checked with Amazon for a Dunlop 404 front tire.  They were in stock.  Not just one but a bunch.

Did order the tire and got it yesterday evening.

Maybe the supply line for tires is alive out there.

From my tire supplier the Dunlop 404 isn't a radial but in mixing tire types, you are doing it the right way.  cooldude

On a note it appears AMT has some other options available including the stock Bridgestone 701F and the 702R

Been running Dunlop 404's on the front and CT on back for a little over 60K miles.  No problems.  Only problem is the road surfaces around here.   Tire that is on there now is not going to get the 11k or so that  have been getting as the Hwy Department in OR and CA have been putting down new chip coats on the roads I ride this last 12-15 months.  Really wears the tires out fast.

I have been running and liking Bridgestone Exedra on both front and rear since the original Dunlop rear tire delaminated while resting on the OEM crate I used when I moved from NJ to TX in ‘99. That tire owed me nothing but when I saw the way it came apart, while on that pallet, it freaked me out.

Recently I changed my TPMS and went to state inspection that same day. The beeping TPMS unit that next morning had me thinking that the new rear sensor was leaking. Rear tire pressure was showing 8psi. A thorough flashlight inspection of the tire found a 1/8 nail buried near the crown. After removing the nail I didn’t like the way things looked. I put a plug in it but then went to   www.chapmoto.com.   and found an Exedra Max 180 70R 16 in stock and “On Sale”.

I ordered that tire at noon on Friday and FedEx delivered it to my home at 10:15 am today Sunday.

Simply Outstanding in todays screwy world.

I put a set of Exedra Max on a 1500 Vulcan and they handled just fine in summer conditions. With all the other brands going to harder and more mileage type compounds there are instances of not handling well in cold and/or wet conditions though usually lighter weight Shadows and 1300 Yamaha are the most mentioned being the "victims" but.... As long as the 701F & 702R OEM are available I'm good to go. I've been very pleased with their performance in all conditions especially in "goose drowners" rain storms. On a note Rainx for plastic windshields works to good in these instances.  Grin

I ordered a front tire from AMT on Wednesday and it was delivered on Friday, Avon Cobra Chrome with a date code of 3121, $208 delivered in 2 days. Looks like they are back in stock.

the Dunlop that I got was $109.   That is close what the pervious several 404's that I have gotten, up maybe $4 or so.   Was surprised that they were in stock.
