Started with 19 bikes, 1 rear flat,  Sad 2 speeding tickets   police tickedoff.

All in the first 45 minutes.  Shocked

Thankfully the rest of the day was less eventful. The whole purpose behind the ride was to meet up and ride with Werner and his wife Gudrun who were on vacation from Germany. A few of us had met Werner at last years Valkyrie Rally at Cheaha in Alabama.

Started out in a light mist with the promise of sunny 72F day.

Cruised up 4 lane GA400 and onto the north Georgia twisties to meet up with some riders from South Carolina and 1 from North Carolina.

The zip and zoom over Blood Mountain was uneventful but fun as usual. The 2 lane uphill sections allow for some rather spirited riding by those who care to exercise their right wrists.  Evil

The meetup was on the top of Brasstown Bald the highest peak in Georgia. http://www.fs.fed.us/conf/rec/btb_overview.shtml

The road to the parking lot is about 3 miles long and very steep. Some great views if you are brave enough to take your eyes off the road.

Very little gravel on the road which is surprising considering the recent snow and freezing weather.

A brief conversation and tire kicking session and then on to the lunch destination. Rib Country in Blairsville, GA

We were seated on the deck and the warm sun felt great. It was a leisurely lunch for the group of about 26 people.

Post BBQ everyone split up and headed off. I took a small group off to go and see a friends new purchase of an old barn on 7 acres. Well after about 35 miles of great roads I got us to the location which was about 8 miles from Rib Country as the crow flies:-)

Rory wasn't working at his place so we all headed home.

265 miles later I roll into the garage. Slightly sun burnt and wind burnt. A good riding day.
