It looks like the opening is quite a bit larger than the Dan Marc and would not impede fuel flow one little bit. Opinions?

One of the statements in the ad says, Not suitable for gravity feed applications, so not good for Valk Applications?

Buy the Dan Marc.  It's proven.

That is a pilot valve. The solaniod doesn't actually open the valve...it opens a small "pilot" port and uses the pressure from the liquid/air/whatever to actuate the actual valve.

It needs pressure on the "tank" side to work. It's really for higher pressure applications. Not really suitable for gravity feed.

If I would have read the fine print, I would have noticed that it was a pilot valve and not bothered anyone about this, but they also make a semi-direct valve in 3/8" that would be fine for a gravity fed application.

As well as a slightly different direct type in 1/4".

My concern with the Dan Marc was that it "only" has a 1/8" orifice size. I know several have used this valve and have had no problems and that there has been some discussion about flow rates in past posts. My thought is the easier the gas flows the better. Maybe I'm just being paranoid and 1/8" would be fine. A person could always try it and see how it performs I guess. Thoughts?

Dan Marc makes a 1/4" version but it also "looks" like a pilot valve.

Still working on my "get rid of the petcock" scheme and hooking direct to the tank with a low profile adapter and QD.

That one looks suitable.

"Direct to tank"...got any plans to handle a reserve or just going to do without (just curious?)

Ya, going to go without a reserve.  Sad  Wings don't have reserves, my car and truck don't have reserves so I suppose I can get used to being with out on the Valk.  cooldude

I have the Dan Marc on both of my Valkyries. I have just finished redoing my steering head bearings and wanted to see if I had any shake at 105 mph. I ran it up to 125 and still climbing, but I let off. So fuel delivery problem with the Dan Marc is no issue. And the solo one I play with running it hard on the low end with no bobble.

Is it the regular flow through unit with the 1/8" orifice?

Yep. I was a little worried that it wouldn't deliver enough, but it has not problem.
