Got out for a ride thanks to this hole in the sky! This is what is called a “Chinook Arch” something we look forward to especially in the dead of winter. Yes, that hole brings with it a warm pacific wind from the other side of the Rockies that can raise the temperature from -20C to +10C in no time. There is also a beauty to it that makes you just stare.

Great photo T-Man!! I've been in Calgary during Chinooks, but I don't believe I've ever seen that sky before...cool.

BTW - you're welcome for the shot of warm air...we like to keep our Eastern neighbours' spirits up now and then during the Winter months  Wink

Nice Pic!   cooldude

You know, there's both good and bad associated with this Global Warming thing.
Good, there's more nude beaches.
Bad, there's more nude beaches.   Don't ask..............  Wink

That road, and Plummers Road west of it, are a couple of my favourite less-travelled riding gems in that area.

I've got a shot of what the arch looks like from your end but I'll have to find it to post. Pretty cool as well.
