A thread on here got me worried about buying tires and I can't seem to find a AVON rear tire or for that matter front tire. That what I am running right now.

I don't think I'll make more than 4-6 months on my rear tire. Winter is big riding time for me.

I don' want to run the tires to the point of I have to replace this and not have a place to get tires. I'm think if I can find at least a rear I should buy one. Don't seem to have to worry about old stock for now.

Most sellers get their tires from regional warehouses as far as "fresh" supply thus finding a specific tire regardless of brand right now kinda sucks. Shinko is about the only brand available right now which is better/equal to most brands just doesn't last as long especially the rear.

I went down to the Suzuki shop a couple of months ago to order an
Avon rear... he probably uses Parts Plus, I'm not sure. They were on
back order till the end of the year. I ordered it anyhow. It came in
sooner than expected. When I thought I might get stuck with no
rear tire on the 1500, I ordered a Shinko SE890 from J&S. It came
in a few days.

Now I have two new rear tires  Smiley ...

I started buying tires from the Suzuki guy when I stopped mounting
them my old self. Those low profile tires on the 1800 kicked my rear
end. He got me a new front for the 1800 and put it on a week or
so ago. He had a hard time with it even though he has a giant
industrial machine to mount it for him. I was happy to stand there
and watch  cooldude ...

Anywho... ordering one of these unavailable tires now might result
in you getting one sooner rather than later...

In my experience,  my shinko SE890 rear lasted same 9-10K as my former avon cobra

Amazon can be wrong. They say it's in stock but it isn't. They take your order and nothing for a while. Had it happen to me. Amazon cleared it up fast, they gave me a date for a reply. If not met, order cancelled, money returned which is what happened.  I will give Amazon a try but as far as tires I don't trust that or Ebay.

Besides Avon Cobras have been discontinued for about 2+ yrs. If anybody has them I'd be concerned about the age of them.

BTW someone just posted a 6 yr. old Cobra. $75

I  ordered a Cobra Chrome from Dennis Kirk.  They said it was out of stock but I was in no hurry so I went ahead.  Had it in three days.  This was back in September.

Your results may vary.

I ordered several things this summer and was told it was on back order (not bike tires, and not ammo) (and before recent democrat economy sabotage).

Each time, it arrived right away.

You wonder if the phone people even know, and are just told to tell everyone things are on back order, so if it's late there won't be any complaints.

I gave Amazon a try, Avon Cobra chrome back tire. Stock size, we will see what shows up. Think it was $235 free shipping.

Motorcycle parts are suspect on Amazon in general, we will se how it goes.

If nothing else old stock must be disappearing from everywhere. At some point all tires will be fresh.

New and used bikes are disappearing as well. I looked over the local dealerships inventory and they are empty here.
