Planning a trip to Florida next year (March).  My wife wanted to visit the panhandle again.  My experience in previous trips that way were that there are some reasonable rural roads along the coast but US 98 is mostly 4 lane.

So my question is is Florida State Route 30 from around Santa Rosa to just west of Panama City a reasonable ride (not full of traffic and views of the coast.

And then US 98 all the way to Piney Island.

Open to other suggestions in that area.

Thanks.

Roll Eyes Not a good idea if you want to take 98 & 30A in the pan-handle east to Panama City. Spring break starts in March. Expect a BIG crowd  Shocked  Now on the other side of PC 98 east -30A back to 98 East towards Perry should be pretty good.  coolsmiley

Thanks Farside, I forgot all about spring break.   Was shooting for week of March 7th or 14th.   Route changes made.

Just one time I ended up in Ft Liquordale during Spring Break.

What a huge mistake.

I like a good time as much as anyone.  But pissing and puking in the pool, fistfights with blood (girls and boys), screaming crazy drunkenness all night long isn't a good time.

Cancun was wild, but spring break in FL was felony level lunacy.
