I have a nice set of passenger footpegs that came on the trike but...the pegs stick out so far even when flipped up, they interfere with using the parking brake handle. The chrome piece shown in the picture(pardon the bright ceiling reflected light) is the mounting point for the pegs. From the hole at the front to a point that won't interfere with the handle is as noted; 3".  I'd like to have the pegs on there all the time but for now I'm leaving them off for two reasons; 1) nobody to ride with me anyway(at the moment). 2) it does interfere. 3) right now it's too cold to ride. Make that 3 reasons. If anyone has a suggestion for pegs that are 3" or less sticking out when flipped up, I'd like to hear it. You have until about next May.  Angry

I assume the parking brake handle pulls up to set brake so can it be moved out and or forward to create clearance? Can the handle be reshaped?

Just keep the pegs and a tool to mount them with the bike, so if you do get a passenger, you can add them in a couple minutes.  One bolt each, right?

My only other idea is to get (or make) a peg riser (like is already on there) that is taller.  Tall enough to be up out of the way of the brake handle.  Most passengers aren't going to mind high pegs and bent knees anyway.

Or, will that peg riser rotate forward to near vertical (and still be reachable by a passenger)?  Instead of leaning back like it is.

Wow!  Parking brake?  My two wheeler doesn't require one.  I use the transmission in first gear.   Wink

John i wouldn't worry too much about that parking brake. unless you are parked on a steep grade it isn't needed. my valkyrie/motortrike never had a parking brake. i just parked it in gear. if i parked on a steep incline it would slowly turn the engine and drift. so what i came up with is i bought a velcro strip that will stick to itself. and i just pull in the front brake lever wrap the velcro around the lever and handgrip, most trike kits don't have a parking brake. if it were me i would re-install the footpegs and forget about the brake. i have a kawasaki voyager trike now with a csc kit. no parking brake. and i use the velcro on this one to.. when not in use i just leave the velcro tightly rolled  around the lever so its there when i need it.

Rick,
What's the overall length of that velcro strap?   Had one but, my painter decided to lose it at some point while the trike was in his shop.   Need to replace it.   As I remember, it was maybe 8-10 inches long?

It's interesting, John, how that phrase has become so common in our English communication but is usually grammatically incorrect.  Most of the times that we say, "Me too," we should have correctly said, "I also."

I guess that's an example of why the English language is so difficult.   Smiley

Turn it to pull out or push down. If not going to be made functional, I would remove it.

Or as one of my black students once said..."ya dude, I be doin same."

A dear cousin(RIP) 5 yrs. my senior was a teacher and stickler for grammatical correctness, which meant as we were growing up I was called to task many times. So as we got older, at times I'd purposely & generously sprinkle our conversations with stuff that made her skin crawl. I used to delight in watching her draw a quick breath when I'd use the word "irregardless" or "I was woken up" or some such phrase. She knew I was doing it to bug her, but she would react just the same. We were raised more like brother & sister and to the day she passed away, we had that little game going. Both my adopted parents were educators and dad, moreso than mom, would quietly correct me at such times as when I'd use the word "at"...as in "where's it at?" He'd just suggest "it's behind the at" and go on with whatever he doing. Another one was when referencing someone such as "Lucy she..." always brought about a raised eyebrow. I either learned to try and be correct...or simply keep my mouth shut. Generally leaned more toward the latter.  Grin

These are on Ebay, can't tell how long they are to the outer edge when flipped up. I'd prefer something more comfy for any passenger. I presently have the originals off the trike and carry them in the trunk along with a wrench to install/remove when needed. I'm trying to remember...do the OEM rear pegs fold up, and if so can someone check the length in that position?

Anybody have a set of these or similar? Wondering what the measurement is from where the bolt enters to the outer edge when flipped up. If 3" or less they might be my answer.
