After the torrential rains of last weekend (Nov fall rains in 3 days), we've gotten flooding from WA State into the old Sumas Lake flat lands, that was drained about 100 years ago.

https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2021/11/19/abbotsford-flood/

Then all BC routes to the Lower Mainland had slides and flooding on them.

Large sections of the Coquihalla Hwy have been washed away.

msb was trapped at his home for a while, till slides could be cleared allowing alternating traffic along Hwy 7.

Isn't it so ironic that CFB Chilliwack Engineers was closed down, and they had to be transported in from Edmonton? Nothing in/West of the Rockies.

(more news than sites in the above links. This one shows only a small portion of the flooding.)

The town of Merritt was evacuated. Issues in Princeton too.

The raw footage looks better if you do a BC flood Abbotsford search

I hadn't seen or heard of issues from WA, but here is one from just across the border in Sumas.

I remember fixing up uncles home in Pemberton back in the 80's after the Valley was flooded. Taking a hose to the inside of the house to flush the silt out.

Just to confirm, msb was never in danger, high and dry up here on Mt Woodside. We were only limited in going East into town or to Harrison for a couple days. We never had any issues going West to Mission. Just the one rockslide East of us on #7 which was cleared after 2 days and was opened for two-way traffic the day before yesterday. cooldude

I've only heard about issues on Vancouver Isl, up Hwy 99, 5 and 3, in the Coastal and Cascade Mtns.

Nothing past the Okanagan Valley.

Wow!! At the end of this video was the Hwy 8 between Spences Bridge and Merritt.

4 bridges gone and a lot of road.
