I have already thought about this. If our beloved Valkyries ever get banned I know how to turn most of the major parts into cool furniture. Hopefully I won’t  live that long. Lol

That will end motorcycle touring for the next 20 years or so, until we get a giant leap in capacity.  Battery tech, at this time, just cannot produce a small, lightweight battery with a 200+ mile range that can recharge in minutes.  With a car, you don't have to worry about the weight of the battery so much, since the driver isn't bearing the weight of it.  Plus, a car has plenty of "empty" space for batteries, motorcycles don't.

Maybe a hydrogen powered bike.  That would be zero emissions when operating.

We can follow the CDC's lead and just redefine internal combustion to internal sudden volume expansion engine.

Problem solved

Taking away the roar or the sound of the engine would equate to ripping the soul out of the motorcycle.   Would be the end of touring for me.  Ive been to watch my gsons motocross track and watched battery powered motocross races.  Does nothing for me.   Jyst another pleasure in life ripped from us by the good ole US govt.

What anout the freighter ships that bring the foreign oil here?   They gonna be on batteries?   How about the 18 wheelers on the highways….battery powered?   How about the farmers equipment?  Dozers??  Construction equipnent?     There will always be a need for combustion engines

You would think.

But the plan seems to be forcing everything to be 100% Electric.

Heard on the radio today that power grids in CA were being shut down due to high winds in order to prevent wildfires.

Can you imagine the problems that would create on Thanksgiving Day if everything was electric?

Digger the cruise ship industry is already moving forward building new ships running on natural gas instead of oil. The new Mardi Gras’s cruise ship based out of Cape Canaveral runs on LNG.

Natural gas is a fossil energy source also.

Reports of my Valkyries death have been greatly exaggerated. In UK (and Europe) no retrospective testing of vehicles. No emission testing on motorcycles at MOT (annual) safety check. No vehicles banned from city centres just a charge if the vehicle is over prescribed limit. My car is exempt from charges as it's a modern Euro fart box with a turbo 1400cc engine. My Valk is liable to charges though you can pay for a one off exemption due to its age. ICEs are not to be banned but manufacturers are only allowed to produce EVs by 2030-35. How we are going to find the electric to power all these EVs is  unanswerable. Anyway by then (hopefully) I'll be in my 90s and probably care less.

I'm trying to imagine Race ANYTHING With OUT the roar of unmuffled Internal Combustion Engines.!  Lips Sealed I caught a piece of an electric car race on the t v. The High pitched Whine of the motor Was NOT The Least inspiring. I used to Not like the ringy ding of a 2 stroke M/C engine BUT Even That sounds better than that electric whine. And YES when I motocrossed in Japan most if not all motocross M/Cs had 2 stroke engines. And Yes still some blue smoke hangin round the start/finish line a lap or 3 later!  Roll Eyes Maybe 25  30 years the charging tech will be available Everywhere in the lower 48 Maybe in 25  30 years the battery tech will be advanced enough for a 700 mile day and a 3 hour recharge to do er again. Of course WE already KNOW wind is NOT the Answer-Texas Feb 2021.  Roll Eyes Solar-ask the folks north of I 80 how much snow they git or those folks that live above 5000'! Will the Needed new power transmission lines NOT Cause Forest Fires? I KNOW I got a bit off topic But this electric stuff seems to be headed World Wide. Thinkin "they" tryin to drive US back to the forests and caves. RIDE SAFE.
