So this evening while trying to adjust the rear brake switch, I sheared the brake pivot shaft (46513-MZ0-000) and it's unavailable from OEM sites. I managed to find one used on eBay and ordered it, but it's going to take at least a week to arrive.

Any ideas on a temporary, or even permanent, fix that doesn't involve that bolt? I was thinking about trying to source two bearing and stack them with a bolt through to the nut on the rear of the mount.

Hardware stores sometimes carry shoulder bolts. You could make one from a bolt and a bushing.

How did you shear that shaft while adjusting the brake light switch?

john.esher's post can serve as a product advisory. That is, it's wiser to spray WD10 before taking off the pivot bolt especially since it's discontinued.

"I was thinking about trying to source two bearing and stack them with a bolt through to the nut on the rear of the mount."

A bushing might work for a temporary fix. Bronze bushing are cheaper than brass. Try the drop down menu here. Only the ⅜" ID bushing has an ⅝" OD. The oem page list the dust shied for the pivot bolt as 15mm ID. Logically the pivot shaft is 16mm instead of 15mm(?).

16mm  equals 0.629921-inch.
⅝-inch equals 0.625-inch (slightly under 16mm).

Or this

You could try calling for a bolt only.

While Partzilla/RonAyers shows the bolt unavailable,  ProCaliber does list the new bolt available for purchase.
Seems like PC works to gather NOS on a lot of Honda parts.

I spent a bit of time last night on McMaster-Carr and ordered a few bushings that I think should work as a temporary fix. I had already ordered the assembly from eBay, but M-C ships to me nearly next day, and will definitely beat the eBay arrival.

BTW, where did you find the dimensioned drawing? I have been using Partzilla, but they don't have that...

Thanks for that resource, just ordered the bolt! I'll definitely be adding them to my bookmarks.

Thanks, that was already on it's way before I posted. For $9, I figured I couldn't go wrong.

Any other oem parts websites has the exploded drawings. I thought they all had them.

The 2002 thru 2004 VTX1800C uses a similar Brake Pivot Shaft, Part # 46513-MCH-000 it also uses the same size dust seals 15 x 20 x 3. Not sure if the length of the shaft is the same but might be worth looking into.
