He may be right, I have no way of debating what he says about deposits on the valves etc.

What he does not mention is that SeaFoam is used to help keep the corn gasoline from attracting moisture and plugging up carbs.

Two different things.

These are all YouTube links for a channel called "Project Farm" where this down to earth, NOT obnoxious guy tests tons of products. These links are all about SeaFoam. Watch and make up your own minds about it.  cooldude

I use seafoam in just about every engine on my property.   Especially in my boat, garden tiller, weedeater and air blower and pressure washer.     All engines that set for ling periods.   I use it in my Valkyrie nearly everyyime I put fuel in it.  108,000 miles and nary a carb problem.  i believe in the stuff.

Every engine is different and there is no blanket product that works with all. I have used Sea Foam on gas and stored it for years and its been fine when I did use it. But as a cleaner I still like Chevron Techron mixed way stronger than recommended. I once in a while use Sea Foam on a normal running car or engine, I cannot say for sure it makes a long term difference, but in the immediate running it seems to. If you buy it for carbon you can pretty much forget it. But there are other nastiness in our intake and fuel systems that are much better addressed by Sea Foam and other products not carbon.

The modern fuel does very well at eliminating carbon and the newest cars that have direct injection that tend to accumulate carbon on valves need an entirely different application and product.

If you look at a head that the injectors spray on the valves they are usually very clean, but the intake is very nasty. Some place that the fuel does not get to unless you have a carb.

My personal experience after testing many products and what worked best with my valkyrie:
a) Best cleaner: Techron.
b) Best stabilizer: Stabil Marine.

My I/S was parked for near 1 year due to 2 broken alternator mounting bolts and even with corn gas the carbs didn't crap out.

I give credit to the habit of running the bike to the reserve, adding Stabil marine and refilling the tank (that ensures that it is properly mixed with the gas).

I learned about Stabil Marine here at the forum, just don't quite remember who was the person who first mentioned.

Has anyone had experience with using Seafoam in a diesel pickup truck prior to an oil change (300-400 miles) to degunk sludge around the top end?
Good, bad, or made no change after the new oil? Huh?
Thank you.

I think my personal record for watching his videos was 30 seconds.  Couldn't deal with him.
Now, the guy on Project Farm?  A very class act, very good method for researching, easy to listen to.  I have used his advice on several things I have purchased.

I totally agree with you about the guy on project farm.  I have left comments on several of his videos and he replied to each one very promptly.

I like Scotty.

He takes some getting used to and he's very opinionated, but he provides a lot of info.

He's definitely in it for the clicks and whatever that gets him.

Serk, how does one go about finding pages like you posted above to learn this about other YouTubers?

There's a bunch of income calculators out there, the one I used above was Socialblade:

https://socialblade.com/youtube/user/scottykilmer

There's a lot of debate as to just how accurate these are, but I think they're at least in the ballpark..

seafoam is no miracle cure but is one of the cheapest routes to take to try and will do no harm as far as I know unless you overdo it in smaller engines.  I once put guessing 1 ounce, or 2 possible?,  in a lawnmower that ran well prior and could not start the darn thing after adding seafoam to the small gas tank.

I think it is suggested at a rate of 4 oz. per 10 gal. of gas.

A friend thought if a little was good, more would be better. He started the bike OK but it slowly but surely ran worse and worse. It wouldn't restart when he turned it off. He tried several things. The answer was replace the gas and new spark plugs. Don't know if there was a way to clean the plugs and use them.
