I had an almost new 79' El Camino SS (with flat camper) I picked up used in Montgomery AL to ship overseas instead of my junker. I had to take it down and get it converted to taking all leaded fuel (remove catalytic and smog). The car had been owned new by the dispatcher of the Montgomery PD, and the shop told me that all that crap had already been removed (back when a dealer could sell a used car with all smog removed and get away with it).
It ended up being all over Turkey, Istanbul, Ankara, Adana, the entire Aegean seaside and over near Russia and Syria. One of the best cars I ever owned. Except by '79 the SS was a 305 2-bolt main instead of a 350 4-bolt main.
Had it shipped back home to CA and drove it across country to VA when I got out of service. The outport in San Pedro CA forgot all about the smog conversion paperwork, so I never had to alter it back to stock. It finally became the wife's car, and didn't do well in snow and ice (light rear end), so it got sold.

All my cars with back seats probably only got sat on 5 times ever.
