I’ll bet Chevy would have sold only a hand full of these back in the day, but now would probably be a run away hit.

Lots of talented people, yes.  I would not be one of them.   I shudder when I think of how much work went into building that.   Definitely a work of passion and love of a challenge.  A decade or so ago, I and a friend started producing fiberglass rebodies of the Pantera that would bolt right onto a Pontiac Fiero.   We built 5 or 6 before we finally decided it was more work than it was worth based on ROI.   My friend still has all the molds and most of the equipment to build them.    Lips Sealed

On that note, the latest installment of the show Bitch’n Rides has them cutting up a near perfect stock Panera. The owner has three of them but he is so tall he can’t enjoy driving them. They had the Roadster shop build a custom chassis, install a Coyote engine with a late model GT 40 transaxle with cantilevered inboard suspension front and rear, then the Kindigit shop gutted the Pantera and cut it in half.

Man, that is impressive. I really respect that level of talent. There was some time put into that project too.

I don't get the attraction, but to each their own... But for those interested, here's some info and pics of the build out of Mordor...

I had an almost new 79' El Camino SS (with flat camper) I picked up used in Montgomery AL to ship overseas instead of my junker.  I had to take it down and get it converted to taking all leaded fuel (remove catalytic and smog).  The car had been owned new by the dispatcher of the Montgomery PD, and the shop told me that all that crap had already been removed (back when a dealer could sell a used car with all smog removed and get away with it).

It ended up being all over Turkey, Istanbul, Ankara, Adana, the entire Aegean seaside and over near Russia and Syria.  One of the best cars I ever owned.  Except by '79 the SS was a 305 2-bolt main instead of a 350 4-bolt main.

Had it shipped back home to CA and drove it across country to VA when I got out of service.  The outport in San Pedro CA forgot all about the smog conversion paperwork, so I never had to alter it back to stock.  It finally became the wife's car, and didn't do well in snow and ice (light rear end), so it got sold.     Undecided

All my cars with back seats probably only got sat on 5 times ever.
