You maybe correct Coot especially with the fairing however the saddlebags and trunk don't look bad mounted on a Valkyrie in my minds eye  Undecided

That is a Vetter fairing and the bags and trunk are made by Bates.
Better to leave that stuff for the 1000 and 1100 GoldWing riders.
There is better stuff available for Valks, and there would not be any need to modify brackets and hardware just to mount.

Buy them and clean them up some.  Double your money or more selling them on Ebay.  The trunk alone will go about that much from what I've seen.

Craig Vetter and his wife are still alive and kicking. A little history, though not complete, and stealing some info from the current Wing World rag, he was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in '99. Made the original Vetter fairings during the 70's, designer of the Triumph Hurricane. Honda gave him three '75 Wings to fit them with his fairings, liked them so hired him to build the Hondaline Fairings for them. Shortly thereafter a fire destroyed all the molds and stock, the only surviving Vetter/Hondaline fairing is in the AMA museum in Ohio. Craig sold the company in '78 and the new owners went into bankruptcy in '82. After Honda introduced the loaded Wing in 1980, the aftermarket fairing demand went down the drain. He's still active in the motorcycle industry, check out his website at:

If only I had known then what it would be worth now. I bought it used with about 45k on the odometer. I proceeded to run it up to 125k before the speedo broke and didn't bother to fix it for over a year. I then traded it for an '83 Interstate with about the same mileage...45k. About four years later, lo and behold what should pull next to me at a stoplight....my old Wing with the pinstriping and the logo still on the side of the faux tank...."MAI TOI."  Kinda dumb, but it was just that to me. The guy told me he had the speedo fixed and had put another 150k on it. That was a rugged old bike, gave me lots of good miles. Before I traded it, I sold the bags and trunk to a guy from the Atlanta area. He rode his '76 down one Friday afternoon and I helped him install them, he then turned around and headed home. Sold the fairing to a local guy, wasn't the Hondaline/Vetter though, just the aftermarket unit with the lowers.

Those Vetter fairings  can usually  be had pretty cheap.  The trunks don't hold much & are often discarded.   I have a complete set  with all mounting hardware I rescued from the trash several summers ago.

I had one  of the fairings on a 79 XS 1100  special many moons ago.  It was a great design.

I had one of his fairings on 5 different bikes.    Just bought new mounting brackets from him.

That fairing made 3 trips to Alaska, but only 2 back.............

I put it on a 3 cyl ring a ding ding Kawasaki 750.    Rode it up to my son's house in Anchorage, when I pulled into his driveway if gave up the ghost and dropped 75% of the way off.   Only thing holding it was the wiring loom in the left side panel..........     The ringie done did vibrated it all apart.....     I had almost a roll of duct tape on it on the last trip........  It was fine when I left home, about Montana it started doing it breakage........
