Sadly, I'm in a cage (but at least it's one with nearly 300 horsepower and a 6 speed manual, that I managed to make my mother in law vomit on on The Tail of the Dragon, so there's that). And I can't give TOO many details on the journey, I've been told OPSEC is a thing....

But for tomorrow's drive, I have two options....

228 miles on the inland Interstate
Or
244 miles on the Pacific Coast Highway

Hmmmm.... Wonder which I'll pick?  Lips Sealed

My navigation system seems to be faulty, we've obviously made a wrong turn at Albuquerque!

Getting lost can be fun but, intentional wrong turns are a blast. Wink

Enjoy this trip with the family.

IF you are really on the west side of the country, the Pacific coast hwy is the way to do.  If you go far enough to the north on the I-5, you will run into so interesting white stuff on the road.  NOT GOOD.

I really do like driving by the ocean.

If your plans are to come back this way, it’s better to go South on the coast highway. All the scenery and pull outs will then be on the right side. Monterey is a good place to pause and take in the sights.

PCH might have the elephant seals.

I dunno what their winter habits are.

Well, that just added to my list of things to see along the PCH.

Well, the 10 miles or so of the PCH we were able to see before it was closed, with no detour, forcing us to backtrack and take the boring route anyway were very very pretty...
