So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

Covington, TN

« on: December 31, 2021, 04:26:22 AM »

Must be Spring, had to mow the lawn yesterday.   May mow the side yard today.   New Year's Eve and I'm mowing, it just doesn't seem right.   Roll Eyes  Would have preferred to be on two or three wheels but...

The wife always buys pumpkins for display for Halloween, a few days after Halloween I took them out to her garden, smashed them so they'd break down faster by driving over them with my Kubota tractor.   Now, I've got pumpkin plants coming up.   uglystupid2   They'll die off if we get a freeze but, something about this just ain't right in my mind.

The question is, does this count as getting some wind?

I wore safety sunglasses and wore my helmet (for a while)  Wink

Ron,

Sounds more like honey-dos and work to me! Still, we all do what we must to adapt and adjust... and please the boss... Good luck...

You know you could just go for a ride... I'm in the hood, so to speak. Yep, I'm hunkered down in Montgomery at the moment, thinking I may scoot over your way tomorrow then double back to the Florida panhandle to meet up with my BIL Sunday or Monday... He's hankering for a road trip, and I'm hankering to accommodate him!

No plan, of course... Well, he would like to check out Carrabelle and maybe Apalachicola... you know the coast east of Panama City... That part of Florida is still reminiscent of a bygone era, less crowds and over-commercialization, and more fishing villages and older stuff... Have you been there?

Hey, since I am surrounded by white stuff on the roads/lawns, you could go take a ride for me.

Yup.  You forgot to mention the frigid temps and howling winds, the icing on the cake.

Bruce,
If'n you get close, you know you're always welcome.   Just checked the Wx forecast, 50% chance of that four letter word starting with R.   Depending on the R factor, I'd be happy to ride a ways with you.

BTW, after careful consideration and experimentation, I've determined that the mower and the Kubota do not qualify as getting into the wind.   Neither one will lean into a curve. Wink

Ron,

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, I just re-re-checked the weather again, too... Dang! No bout-a-doubt it, much moisture is lurking all around our corner of the continent waiting to ambush us wherever we might seek to escape... Shucks, I just reluctantly kept my room for two more nights... Figuring to leave Monday morning now... Supposed to be cool to cold, but no worries as that 'R' factor should be gone, and my Gerbings are at the ready.

Now, you mentioned you'd like to 'ride a ways' with us... would that be a few miles or a few days? If it's a few days, let's talk turkey. If only a few hours, well, that would involve an entirely different dynamic and set of calculations... Care to offer a hint?

I also just rechecked with my BIL... He's struggling with aches and pains, but he's also still eager to log some miles, so... We're still tentatively on for a Monday evening rendezvous somewhere in the Florida panhandle... details to be worked out later... You want in on any of that?

Oh, I also agree with you on the mower and Kabuto devices... Any leaning in curves on those contraptions would be in the wrong direction and a most frightful experience! Good luck whatever you do!

In our little corner of the continent, we've been having some of that "R" stuff.  But, as of today and for the rest of the week, 0% chance of precipitation.  High today of 56° (brrr), but steadily warming to 68° by Friday.  Feel free to come on over.

Connie,

That sure sounds tempting! Heck, I may just do that very thing... Wouldn't be for a couple of weeks, though, before I could even head that way... Gotta get a thing removed from my cheek by my dermatologist on the 17th. After that, I'll be dealing with pent-up ride restrictions frustration of several months being built-up, so Arizona is definitely one of my relief venue considerations!!! Just may see ya after all...

Well Bruce, I was seriously considering a trip of a few days, thought I'd work my way down to Port St. Lucie. But, as luck would have it, the wife got a call and now we need to attend a memorial up in KS so, that trip to Port St. Lucie is gonna have to wait.   Will be packing up and heading to Manhattan, KS and then onto Lake Quivira, KS.   It is, what it is.

Ron,

Ahhh, Manhattan, KS... the Little Apple... Had a redirection in life happen to me there once upon a time... Fond memories, but... oh well, that was then, and this is now. Safe winds and fair travels... We'll catch ya one of these days...

Tazman,

I think I'll pass on all that! Daydreams might help... Good luck!
