Dan Reeves died this morning.  I have fond memories of this man and watching him coach.  We've lost another winner.

Good player and coach, and an upstanding man.  Didn't know he was suffering from dementia.  R.I.P.

Elway's whining about Reeves' coaching style (I guess he yelled at poor Johnny) to the owner got Reeves fired.
I hope that Johnny Elbow gets canned after this year (he won't) is over for the once-great,
now-pathetic Denver Broncos last place finish of a team that he is responsible for putting together as the general manager.  Like all corporations, he was promoted for being a putz...as long as ticket sales were good.
He was a fantastic quarterback.  Threw the ball as hard and as long as anyone in the game.  Won a couple of championships....but that's where it all ends.  He rose to a level of incompetence that many swollen headed ex-jocks do.  Wayyy over his head in management from day one.  The phrase should be changed from "The Peter Principle" to "The Elway Principle".  Just a thought.  Undecided

Dan Reeves is receiving words of greatness as a man in his eulogies from his peers.
I believe that is the best one can hope for at the end of a good ride as a coach and a player.
I hope his family allows an examination for CTE to benefit other players' futures.

Rest well, sir, you have earned your place. angel
