I stumbled across this video during my browsing of Youtube. It gives an historical insight into the area and Frisco's roots. I found it interesting, I-70 runs along an original RR track. At one point it was said Frisco bragged that it was free of unpleasant types such as lawyers, loose women, preachers, etc.  I found that amusing, placing those three in the same category. Wink

While working for GM, I used to travel to the Frisco-Dillon area several times a year to test new vehicles at altitude.  We'd stay there often for as long as 2 weeks making multiple trips up to Loveland Pass, Leadville, Mt. Evans, etc.  I always looked forward to those trips.  I missed the last Inzane that was held there because the week before Inzane, we had concluded our testing there and had to drive the vehicles from Frisco to the Desert Proving Grounds in Mesa, Az.  The night before we departed I bumped into Oz in the bar at the Holiday Inn and had a beverage with him.  I have only had my bike out there once, but hope to rectify that after this years Inzane.

Frisco area is my favorite. Always have breakfast at the Butterhorn Bakery on Main St. Seen the testing vehicles parked at Summit Lake about 11 yrs. ago on the way to the summit with 4 of the grandkids. Haven't been to CO for about 8 yrs. now but went every year from 97'-14' when our son lived there. Sad that CO is in the news all the time now. Big fan of the Sunrise Sunset cafe on Wadsworth in Lakewood. The best breakfast skillets and cinnamon rolls to date to me.

There is a Sunshine Cafe in Dillon, in the strip mall below the dam, that was my favorite.  Great Breakfast.  Our go to after the morning cold starts.
